Is that an actual hole punched out of the turbine housing?

I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that before. I was expecting to see a blown compressor or turbine wheel, but it looks like the turbine wheel completely let go and shot through the turbine housing?!

I’m surprised this happened stock. Did the turbo blow when you were at wide open throttle? Did it blow before the car was up to operating temp? I can’t imagine how hot that turbine was to fail that way and not be able to contain the burst.

They're designed to self destruct once out of warranty 😂

On a more serious note, agree that we need more information... Driving conditions??

wow subscribing for updates. sorry OP but a good excuse to go pure turbos I guess . Hold on, the passenger turbo blew up while the dealer was in possession of the car? Sounds like a BIG problem for the dealer.

That's insane. No turbine shards made their way into the motor right? And sounds like a good excuse for bigger turbos...

I never in my life have seen an exhaust wheel explode out of the turbine housing.... The housings must be thin.
