C63 non-S ECU Tuning
Hi all
Been driving my C63 for a month now, it's a great car but it feels a bit restricted, like the car has got so much more to give
I've been looking through some different companies and cut it down to,
-Eurocharged
-Weistec
-RENNtech
-JB4
I'm located in Sweden and there is really really few companies who tunes cars, so any help I could get it great.
Along with the ECU tune I would like to have new downpipes, would I need a special tune to go along with the DPs?
Any cons with doing the tune except that things might break..?
Thankful for your replies

Don't underestimate the better piggyback units: JB4 if you want to play with some tuning yourself or RaceChip if you want more of a "set and forget" approach. Both of these will take the M177 engine up to 590+ crank HP (which is still under the HP that AMG tunes this engine to in various delivered configurations). Just beware that getting at some of the sensors during the install can be a pain (but, from what I hear, _much_ easier than getting at the ECU).

I just got cattless DP's from @shardul on this forum bundled with Eurocharged @loungn14 -- all you'd have to do is order from them, they mail you the DP's and MyGenius flashing device with Stage 2 tune and you'll be in business. I've had a great experience with both for my millions of questions and support even after purchase. Highly recommend them both.

I don't think you need to restrict yourself like that. Most tuners are using the OBD-II port now for the C63. Though I don't have their tune, I would recommend taking it to DMETuning. I have a few friends with their tune and they don't have any issues and it's a very powerful tune. They would probably just ship you the handheld device, you would use it to read and download the stock ECU file to your computer, email it to them, and they would send back the tuned file in a day or two. No need to remove the ECU anymore. I would do some more research on Eurocharged and Weistec though before anything. Renntech is good but they're expensive and don't yield as much of a power increase as the other tunes out there. Good luck, you're definitely in the right place for this kind of information and I'm sure you'll end up with something you'll be happy with.

Just ordered a mygenius obd2 flasher and a eurocharged tune from shardul so I can give my first impression soon on the software, but he has been very responsive via pm and answered all of my questions with detailed information on the entire process. Great price too!

I've had a DME tune installed via obdII port along with Gesi catted downpipes for about a month now on my non-S 650hp 550whp.... feels just about as much. Thrust is ridiculous, No problems. If you're in SoFlo I can recommend the DME authorized dealer... great shop and great guy.
