Debadging

What do you guys think of de-badging a C63s--specifically the trunk lid? Personally, I think it's pretty cool from the standpoint of sending the message that "I don't care if you're impressed by my car." Also, the "real" car guys will still recognize and appreciate it for the unique car it is, whereas it will be more of a sleeper to the general public.

I know this is a forum largely dedicated to tuning and customizing, so maybe I'm asking the wrong crowd's opinion.

Always do so personally. Frowned upon my many who see the car as a status symbol. But symmetry and clean >

My E63S is debadged. Looks so elegant and it's tons of fun to surprise people who have no idea what it is. Haven't regretted it ever.

I think whether or not to de-badge depends a lot on the car. Some cars look like they are missing something without badges. Some cars have badges that look slapped on and removing them makes it look much cleaner.

I think the C63 looks good either way. The badges are subtle enough that the car doesn't look naked without them but also don't look tacky with them.

I've only ever de-badged two of my cars. I took the rear "G35" badge off a '05 Coupe I used to have way back when. It looked like the badge was an afterthought and ruined the clean lines. I also took the "xDrive35i" badge off the sides of my wife's X5 because of the same reason.

If you want to debadge and think it looks better, go for it!

If you care what other people think, non-car people don't care, and car people will assume you're a poser with a c300 or c43 wanting to look like a c63. But as I said earlier, if you like it and don't care what other people think, go for it!!

In my opinion, the car came with so many badges that it will make the car look naked like missing something. Personally, I think it look cheap. On some cars that only have badge on one side of the trunk, it might actually look better (cleaner look) debadged.

Love mine fully debadged, even side badges. I don’t care that others don’t know what it is. The people who know are the ones I would be talking to anyway.

Smooth as a baby's behind!
I started doing the de-badging look on my cars and really enjoy how clean they look.

Respect.

I'm a little too vain to do this on my car, but that's hilarious/amazing!

You need to get the "BLUETEC HYBRID" badge to go on the right side.

Would you be able to post some pics please? I am thinking about debadging my E63S sedan also. The few I've seen in person happened to be debadged for some reason.

At first glance in person I would most likely assume it's a C300 with a C63 diffuser and tailpipes, lol.

Mine was de-badged when I bought it and I hated it, looked like there was something missing, especially on the wings. There was also some slight scratches where the rear badges were removed, so I re-badged.

I think the fenders need to have the badges on to look right. However, the trunk looks good with or without the badges.

This is more of a personal preference. People will be biased, so do so as what YOU personally like
Either way, AMG owners and car enthusiast alike will know either way

I like the fact that my car has badges so there is no doubt that it is a C63 AMG. Debadging always struck me as something people with lower model cars did so the untrained eye might not know it is a lower model. Granted, the exhaust, wider fenders and tires and the V8 Biturbo badge kind of give it away on these cars.

I’ll keep the badges on my car as they don’t detract from the aggressive appearance of the car.

Badges make you look cooler and let everyone know you're a baller with money to spend on a car that states it's output LOL!!

Actually, I would automatically assume someone with a debadged new AMG would probably have way more financial stability than one with badges because they're ultimately stating that they don't care whether you know what they're driving or not. Just my personal opinion.
