Wings Getting Loose
Wings Getting Loose
My oem wing (on the trunk) is starting to become loose on one end. Has anyone just removed the wing and gone wingless? I don't think I care to get another one and tempted to just remove it all together for a cleaner look.

Just take it off , clean off the old tape and retake it ..... we do it all the time in our shop ...no big deal

These are the items you will need to re-install the wing:
3M tape
Goof Off
Fishing Line or Floss
Heatgun (You don't really need it, but it makes the job so much easier)
Plastic Spatula (Very sturdy one)
1.Mark the existing location of the wing with blue tape.
2. Remove the wing with a heat gun and fishing line.
3. When you have the wing apart, spray a **** ton goof off and let is reside there for a couple minutes.
4. Next step is to get a plastic spatula and remove the excess 3M tape. Since its from mercedes, its going to be a real pain in the *** because they use some kind of airplane glue on their spoilers.
5. After about 45-1 Hour removing all the excess 3M, wipe it clean and reapply new 3M tape. Make sure there is absolutely no goof before you reapply the 3M tape.
6. Place the spoiler where it use to be.
7. Enjoy
