Active Cruise Control - need help

Hello everyone.

My active cruise control randomly changes the set speed and I haven't been able to figure out how to disable it. For example, I set cruise control at 75 on the freeway and it will change the speed to 55, what's interesting is that it seems to do it at the same points in the freeway as well as the same point in a canyon I take to get back home. Does anyone know how to turn this off? It also changes the speed to go faster too. I set my cruise control on at 56 for example and it changes it to 60. It has nothing to do with the cars in front or behind me, that part of it works perfect - slows down and speeds up based on the distance I set it to keep from the car in front of me.

Anyone know what this is? I went through all the menu settings and can't find it.

Yes, it recognizes the speed limit signs and automatically adopts that as the speed for DISTRONIC. It's a feature, but it can be disabled under the vehicle assistance settings. I have it disabled as I find it unhelpful here in the USA. It was really helpful to avoid speeding tickets in Europe during my ED trip, though.

You are welcome. BTW, even if you disable it, you can at any point press Resume to manually adopt the current speed limit. I find this useful to initially set DISTRONIC to the current speed limit and then increase it from there to the typical 10-20 mph over, but it's also a quick way to reduce it back down to the speed limit when the radar detector goes off .

Lmaooo. Yeah I actually got a ticket a few months ago and have since been watching it...

Perhaps I'll get one of those too once I am done with other mods on the car
