AMG 555 PERFORMANCE SEATS

I am planning to order a 2021 C 63 S coupe . My problem is what seats ? do I order ? I am 75 years old , 5-8 and weigh 160 lbs . I will drive under 50 miles a trip . I could go on a day trip of 200 + miles .I will be ordering the 19 inch rims as a better ride. I have 2019 AMG 43 GLC with the 21 inch rims/ performance tires and 20 inch all season tires and the ride of the car is is very noticeable , The seat in the GLC AMG 43 are ok, but I like the feel of my son BMW COUPE seats which fit me better. The last thing is a seat that will be so stiff or hard as some one that is going to use this car on a race track . I do want comfort and there is NO way for me to test drive a C 63 S with the AMG 555 PERFORMANCE SEATS.

It sounds like like you would be better off with the standard comfort seats. The C63 suspension is stiffer than the GLC43 and if you're already selecting your wheel size based on comfort then you may not want to give that gain right back through the performance seats.

I have the performance seats and love them for the look and sporty feel. They just aren't as comfortable for leisurely driving, particularly on longer trips.

Oh and one last thing--the 2021 C63 is a W205 model. That's why you aren't seeing a ton of answers here in the W206 forum.

Congrats on the car and enjoy in good health!

As said above, you'll get more answers if you post in the right forum. Also, do a search, this topic has been discussed many times and there are several threads about it already. The gist is nobody will be able to tell you. We all come in different shapes and sizes. From your physical description, you seem to be in the sweat spot for those seats, but don't know how limber you are at 75. The performance seats do make it harder to get in and out of the car. In terms of comfort, though, I've never had issues. I find them great all around. Both the seat bolster for the bottom cushion part and the back part are inflatable, so you can make them wider or tighter. I'm 5'11" and 170 lbs, but used to be almost 220 lbs. I now find the seats almost a bit too loose even with the side bolsters fully inflated when I hit up the canyons, but I find them very comfortable when fully deflated. I've done 12 hour day trips in them on several occasions and had no issues with comfort. They may seem a bit hard at the beginning, but they wear in. My parents, both around your age climbed into and out of the car. My dad climbed into the back and my mom sat in the front. She needed some help getting in and out as she isn't the most limber, but was fine once in it. Wouldn't be for her on a daily basis, though, and the longest drive with them was more like 1-2 hours.

If you've already chosen to go with 19" wheels for comfort reasons, for me it's a no brainer to go with the comfort seats too. Yes, the performance seats look a bit better but you've already decided comfort > looks with the wheels.

Edit: oops replied to wrong thread

I think the performance seats keep my back aligned and feels great.. Sometimes on long trips in a C class or GLB (current dd) my back can hurt.. Was never so in the perf seats.. Especially the new ones in the cla/gla/a class/gt sedan .. Can get performance seats plus with adjustments and dynamic
