any help is needed. ty. car went into limp

Hello, I have a 2017 c63s cab edition 1. I went in for a replacement of the wind deflector and while I was at it I still had 1 prepaid maintenance package left so i got the 30k service done to it around 34,500 miles. I pick it up Wednesday 8/19 drove it back home and no problems. The next day I went to get tires swap out at my usual place and an hour afterward car went into limp while on the highway. All sorts of lights came on. got it towed to Mercedes Caldwell where I got the service done and of course Friday and Saturday the car was just left there and I got no update. The car was in comfort when i was driving not pushing it hard. engine temps were good. the outside temp on the dash kept rising though. had to remove the push to start button in order to turn off the car after I move it to the shoulder. it did start right back after turning off the car. can changing 4 tires do this to a car? as of now I'm blaming the 30k service but trying to see if anyone else had this issue. I also could not put the top back up even after turning on and off the car and even waiting until the tow truck came. any help to solve this mystery would be great. thank you in advance.

Well it definitely seems like it's something electronic, to cause all of those random errors. My guess is that it will be a bad battery or you need a Benz software update.

A couple months ago I was driving along normally with the family and the engine started running rough and I had misfire codes. Independent shop could not figure it out. Took it to Mercedes under warranty and they gave an update and fixed everything.

The SA told me I was not the 1st and won't be the last that this happened to, sees it a lot. My error codes were different but because yours is a cabriolet it could be that the Same software problem could manifest a little differently?

Who installed the tires for you? Did this happen straight after you got the tires fitted?

I really cannot imagine how a tire shop could have caused this type of problem or error code you are seen. Unless they went very far afield of their scope and started messing with things they had no business touching. But even then I really don't know what they realistically could have done. Again, it seems like an electrical issue.

i was there throughout the tire change and everything he did seem normal. I got a phone call finally and the traction control module failed and stop reading the speed sensors which is getting backorder and taking 2 weeks to get the part in. at this point i so tired of having this car. had so many issues.

So at this point will be 2 weeks before you have any update?

my car does the same thing, it’ll definitely be hot, in the upper 80s mid 90s but it’ll say outside is over 100+

My local tire shop years ago after swapping my wheels out to winter's said I get some wheel shimmy. They also tried charging me $200 for basically a tire rotation. When I told them the wheel shimmy doesn't happen until 85 mph they dropped the price to $30.

Hello all and sorry for the late update. They replaced the ESP control unit which i guess also caused all 4 speed sensors from reading which basically limp the car not going past 20 mph. this is the service record. took almost 2 weeks for replacement part to come in and installed.

That sucks. Are you still planning to keep the car? How many times has it left you stranded on the road or gave you other issues? What's your mileage on it so far

this is the only time this car left me basically stranded. mileage is 35k. other issues were issues that wouldnt make the car driveable but such as the wind deflector both in the front and back being broken. had the whole rear diff replaced after going to the dealership 3 times. 3 rim replaced from new jersey/ new york potholes all front rims. at least 4 sets of tires already. i did get the plugs replaced after i got a tune on the car and it popped up a check engine light. tried to get a dinan tune installed before and well its a long story which costed me a few thousand to fix. nothing tune related but my own mistakes with choosing an "installer" basically. it is a lease so i wont be having it much more longer anyway. i personally dont think i would get back into another c63 anytime soon.

i have had m3/m4 and getting the diff replaced was common but nothing engine wise that ever left me stranded. might go back to bmw after this car. was really thinking about getting into a e63s the newer model but my luck with amg. love them dont get me wrong but modding and tuning bmw has more options. mercedes its already perfect as is.

I feel you mate. The build quality of these cars is f*kn disappointing. Out of almost 20 high end cars I've owned, I've never owned a 3 year old car car that needs so much work. From wheels getting bent and cracked easily, to interior rattles, dealerships playing warranty games, side skirts falling off, ignition coils dying, exhaust rattling issues that plaque the entire AMG lineup from GTS, E63 and C63s etc. this hasn't left me with a happy experience in regards to quality.

These cars aren't cheap either and it's sad to see your issue because you have such a nice and new car. I really do hope she doesn't let you down again like this.

i live in jersey and there are at least 6-7 Mercedes dealerships around me and I honestly been to every one of them. one dealership would say it isn't cover under warranty while another gets it done. one of my friends had a 17 amg GT that had to get the whole steering column replaced which also went to limp and steering was VERY hard to turn. had to lemon law the car at the end of the day. dealership was playing games and while it was a lease who wants to pay for a car that they arent using? an amazing car would love to own one myself one day but the small problems are just time consuming to take it to the dealer.
