don’t know exactly but they are all around the same gain. Tuners provide reference curves for their tunes, which are typical. What do you even mean with close to “stock limits”? You mean limits you can tune up stock internals and tranny before it explodes? If so, I don’t want to be close to that but have plenty of margin.

That wouldn't make much sense since you can tell a tuner what you are looking for and they can build a tune around it.
Do a lot of research on tuners and make a wise choice.
I would start out with EC and Labworx. Talk to them, tell them what you are after and they will have a plan for you. We have about 75 tuned GLC 63's in my GLC Club and many of us are putting down crazy power with impressive numbers. There isn't a car on the street that I would be nervous taking a hit at me.

With your comment to do a lot of research on tuners, this is exactly why a chart could work. Which tuners are OTS/custom/both, handheld option, unmarry capable / resellable, etc., could be on a single page for people to decide which path they want to go down to then research more about that tuner. Is there an OTS handheld tune that is more linear (I guess Carbahn)?
I did have some good success with EC going stage 1.5 (pulley, tune, filters, HE's) with my W211 E55 back in the day

You are not supposed to talk about that outside of our group...
We have 2 blown engines right now but we have some guys really pushing the limits.
I am keeping the "It will never happen to me" philosophy....
I am not going to mention any names but this is one of our really aggressive guys:

Like I said earlier, I am in a club of 75 GLC and we have about every tune there is among us. If you have something to say, say it vs just saying to Google something and no reference of what exactly we are googling....that way you can help us all out.

How was the car before the upgrade? Where was it lacking? And then after the upgrade? What did you like and what were it’s shortcomings?
Your answers would help us.

Hell why do any of them charge what they do to flash a computer for that matter? Why does Renntech charge so much more? From what I've gathered Carbahn's tune is quite a bit milder that most others so seat of the pants you may not feel as much of a difference. Just my opinion but I think they priced it accordingly, that and they are they new guy trying to break in. I'm very interested in seeing some dyno/draggy numbers from someone who's gone with them.

Research your tuners.....
Also, if you are looking at their Stage 1 tune, it is just a piggy-back.

Not true, it's a true flash with a handheld, the Dinan Stage 1 was a piggy back. Yes this is Steve's new company.

looking at their website it does not look like their tune is a mild one or any different than others. Their tuned numbers are pretty much in line with other tuners. Only difference is their price is less than half and they also do not provide any dyno charts on their website.
