What is your opinion on heat soak with these intakes?

I would imagine there has to be some benefit to the airbox. Ie - Weistec makes an intake with an airbox and larger filters. Granted its $2099 compared to $600, but maybe its worth the extra money to prevent heat soak.

Also, is there benefit to just changing out the stock filter with a BMC, AFe or weistec drop in?

Just trying to feel out all my options. Im not interested in sound, although I don't mind if there is some. More interested in performance and certainly not hurting the performance just for sound/aesthetics.

We have yet to receive negative feedback about heat soak with these intakes. Typically, most people are surprised at how low it is. The design of the engine bay keeps the heat in the center of the engine and then is pulled out of the bottom of the car during operation allowing the intakes to remain at ambient temps. You do have a few different options to make sure of it.

One of our customers ceramic coated and applied radiant barrier to his intakes and you can see his results here:

We have intake heat panels for increased heat soak prevention:
https://www.vrpspeed.com/product/vrp...t-panels-m177/

We also offer ceramic coating options available in a wide range of colors.

All of the options together would still cost less than the aforementioned intakes.

As far as power, we saw 40 hp gain on our shop C63 once we installed the intakes.

I appreciate your response. I like the ceramic coating idea as well as the wrap.

Did he blanket stock turbos?

Weistec makes good stuff. Been doin' it a lot longer and been more successful in tuning Mercedes than some currently advertising their products here.
