Anyone have issues with EC tune after MB Software recalls?

Hi guys~
Took my C63 into the Benz dealer "only" because I was showing it had two recalls:

1. Update engine control software
2. Update AMG suspension control unit

Well, I have a EC stage 1 tune I have been running and I switched it back to the stock map before taking it in. I get the car home after the updates and try to put my tune back on and get a "Code COx2101 file incompatible with the ecu". NOT GOOD. I've already sent a pic of this to the support guy Sean so I'm sure when they get in this morning hopefully they will have a solution but I was wondering if anyone else has done these recall updates and suffered a similar fate? I've had updates on previous AMG cars and never had this issue before as long as I went back to stock before the dealer got their hands on it.

Hope MB isn't locking the ecu's down like Toyota did on the Supra's after that first model year.

Your ecu firmware is changed and won't match your old tune or handheld. It sees it like trying to put your tune on another car.

MB already did that with the facelifts, which is why you must buy the extra control module when you get an EC tune.

The infamous updates. Made my car so quiet and downshifts much softer and earlier. Dealer didnt even mention he was going to do it

well, in my case, I was stupid by learning about them and taking the car in figuring it was something "better".......oh well...I learned......

Same happened to me except I was told updates wouldn't change anything. Never trusting updates again or taking the car in for any software recalls. I heard through the grapevine the whole debacle was a silent fix because PFL cars didn't meet emission targets. Anyway can't be reversed or so I've been told.

No my 2017 would never do a cold start. It could be 20 degrees out and it would start and go to 700 rpms. After update it did a cold start even if you started car hot.

My cold starts were fine before and after updates. Updates just made the car quieter (overall and also the pops and bangs which no longer snap) and neutered sport plus mode

Ask your tuner to simply ID the car tune again. Happens to all of us and all you need to do is download the new ID file (or whatever it is called) with your handheld ODB tuner, send it to the tune shop and they can update your tune and send it back and you are good to go.
