Breaks and A/C Belt
Hi Team,
I have a 2015 AMG C63 S. I know that I need to get new breaks and a new A/C belt. I was told by the dealership that the breaks will cost me about $4k.
Is that correct? Also, ideas around pricing for this A/C belt.

*****Take your car to an independent shop. 4k sounds absolutely brutally expensive even if it needs new rotors and pads all around. The rotors on our cars are expensive but not that expensive - same with pads. Dunno if on your vehicle other things may be "broken" raising the costs but assuming it is just a brake job requiring the usual hardware that's a lot of money they are asking for.
The A/C belt is not expensive. Installation IS expensive or can be.

You didn’t tell us front or back or both. Rotors replace too? If it the front with pads and rotors. I think the price is about right. The oem rotors alone probably run you around $2800 and pads probably $700 plus labors.

dealer quoted me around $5k CAD for pads and rotors all round. Obv i laughed at them, bought the pads from porterfield and rotors from brembo and total bill was $2.5k with installation.
i still remember my first service A that i went to the dealership for and they quoted me around $900 CAD. went to my indy and out the door in $350.
moral of the story: to hell with the stealership
