ASR module behaving strange

Just received and installed an ASR RX2 exhaust module for my FL C63S. It opens and close the flaps as it should, but it makes the right flap make a strange noise when the engine is of and the key is close to or inside the car. When turning of the engine or open one of the doors the right flap starts to rattle. I have attached a video, you can hear the rattle when I open the door.

Do anyone else with the ASR module og the Renntech EVM module have the same behaviour? I suspect that there is something wrong with the unit. I have sent an email to ASR, but so far no feedback on this.

I have the ASR module on my FL C63s and my flaps don't rattle. It's possibly a defective flap rather than the ASR module itself causing the rattle?

Could have been that, but there is no rattle at all when the module is disconnected.

I just received an email from Michael at ASR in Germany:

“the noise is merely a reference run by the flap. This is still not a problem and not bad.
With our module, this reference run occurs every time voltage is applied to the flaps. This can be as soon as the door is opened.”

But I am not sure it should be like that. Seems wrong to me.

This is normal operation. My Renntech EVM did same thing (flipping the flap twice) every time car wakes up (eg. touching door handle to unlock door) or even at random times when voltage is applied to the flap as mentioned above.

Thank you. Exactly the same as mine, the flap flipping randomly as well. I guess everything is ok then.

Other than being a different module altogether (pre-facelift vs facelift) did Michael also mention if the pre-facelift does the same thing?

Mine is PFL with ASR and mine doesn't do that.

However, on another note, I would mention that with the valves open using the EVM on a PFL although it is louder and deeper but you get less pops and bangs. When i revert back to stock and use the oem console switch to open the valves, somehow the valve opening and shutting when I lift off the gas gives more pops and bangs.

Thanks for your comment, did you try having the exhaust module in the fully open mode and also activating the oem exhaust switch? As the aforementioned sounds are induced by the ECU through adjustment of ignition timing, if you don't press the button for example, it doesn't go through that procedure.

Another thing is, make sure there weren't any soft codes before and after installing the module, that might affect the sound as well.
