Door Card / Panel Photo Request

Hey folks,

Ive just upgraded my coupe door speakers, and am having a little difficulty getting the door cards to sit properly when reinstalling.

Would anyone please be able to take a photo of the door card from outside with the window down, and also from above?

I have a slight gap where it meets the window area and I’m not sure if this is what it’s like from the factory!

The speakers are plug and play so there’s no issue that they’re too deep/large - I’m just not sure how good the factory fitment of the door cards is.

There is a a rubber seal at the top and I can’t see if the door card should sit above or below this ‘channel’

thanks

Not near my car, so don’t have picture. However it should fit flush with no gaps. I had exact same issue when replacing my speakers. I found that there’s a small lip at top of door that in order to get the card to hook correctly, I had to tilt the top of card at about a 20 degree angle starting about a half inch above the seal and bring down to get on lip. You’ll know when you’ve got the lip as it will hang in place by itself. Then work your way down popping the remaining connectors in place.

When I first attempted this, I was trying to attach the card straight up and down and got the gap. I’ve had these cards off about 4-5 times doing speakers, sound proofing, isolating rattles, etc. so I’ve figured it out via trial and error over time.

Hope this helps!

That may be what I'm missing, as whatever what I seem to fit the card, either above or beneath the rubber 'channel' in the door, it just doesn't seem right.

I'll give it another go at an angle. If you are able to take a photo, that would be hugely appreciated. I've tried to find a good photo from extensive searching, and even looking at youtube videos but most show removal of the doorcard, not the method to re-install it!

I managed to get one door card on flush - but the left hand side has taken over 2 hours and I cannot get it flush for the life of me.

I can't get the door card to sit properly on the part nearest the inside of the door (i.e nearest the hinge) at all - however I try it.

Is there a technique I'm missing? This is driving me beyond insane.... @japamg any more pointers please? This is killing me

Bump - please if anyone has an idea on the technique to fit the doorcard it would save me a massive headache.

Is it better to fit the end near the hinge in first, or the side with the door lock?

Try as I might I’ve had to give up again with this!!
