I been looking for recommendations esp. for rear rotors and brakes. I see FCP has a Rear Brake Kit that includes Zimmermann rotors, Genuine Mercedes brake pads and Bowa wear sensor for $649.82. They also have listed the Zimmermann rear rotors for $ 96.89 each compared to Genuine Mercedes rotors for $290.99 each. Is the Genuine Mercedes rear rotors a better quality than the Zimmermann rear rotors? As for the rear brake pads: The Genuine Mercedes rear brake pads are listed for $452.99. So just thinking of ordering the Genuine Mercedes rotors along with the Genuine Mercedes rear brakes pads.
As you can see by photos the rear rotors hats have taken on ugly rust. Probable from winter salt. The MB dealership will not cover under warranty as they say it does not effect braking. So the plan is to order new rear rotors and brakes and before having them installed have the rotor hat area Powder Coated with a color as close as possible to same color are the rotor hats. Any other suggestion will be helpful. The Zimmermann rotors are zinc coated but believe these will help prevent some rust but not all.
im betting Zimmerman is who makes it for MB. but when it doesn’t have the MB stamp it sells for less. Same way Bosch makes a MB coil pack and puts the logo on so more $$. Yet no MB logo just Bosch and it’s less.
What do you think about the HAKW pads buddy... looking for some upgraded pads... do you like the HAWKS?
I use Hawk 5.0 on the Vett. Superb pads. No noise, nice pedal feel, easy on rotors, the dust is super easy to wipe off. They also need in rather easily
@superswiss what size MP4S tyre are you running on your front wheel in the photo above? Just wondering if it's a 30 or 35 profile (or something different...)
