Found a '21 C63S, clean title, 17k kms, at a third party lot and was hoping to close this weekend.
As they did the presales check the battery showed issues, and they say that the battery replacement requires full reprogram at Merc, they are trying to get it in but will take a week or two.
Is this "normal" , or is this a heads up that there's potential problems with the car? It seems a bit odd to me. Wondering if I should be worried and walk.

The battery could be low if it has been sitting for a while. These cars have a lot of electronic systems that stay active when the car is parked that can drain the battery if it isn't driven enough to recharge.

After 3 1/2 years my 2019 C63S coupe (purchased new) displayed an On Dash warning: 12V Battery See Operator's Manual. The Manual noted to Leave engine running for a few minutes, or drive for a longer distance. The Battery will charge. Note this happened right after the car was at the Car Spa for 3 hours. Also note that
for some time my Mercedes me Connect was displaying Battery as Partial Charge. So right after the On Dash warning I called the MB SA and he recommended to bring the car in to have the battery inspected. So I drove over and the Battery was not ok and was replaced, to my surprise, under warranty. It took about 2 1/2 hours so I waited. Not sure what it would have cost if it was not cover under warranty.
It may be that the car needs to be driven for an extended period but to be sure I would wait and have the MB dealership do an inspection on it.
* The MB Extended Warrant now does not cover Battery replacement or fuses.

Don't think the batteries for these are stupidly expensive... at least not like the LiFePO4 batteries in the M4 which was roughly $2500 installed up here in Vancouver
I'll wait it out and see how it goes. Haven't signed a purchase agreement yet...
It just makes me wonder what else, if anything, of the story I'm missing

Since it's a 2021, wouldn't it be the factory installed battery? I don't know how it is in your country, but here this would be covered under the 4yr/50k mile factory warranty:
1. Original (Factory-Installed) Battery: The warranty period is for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Yea, under warranty
Was just concerned to have anything like this show up at a two year mark
But it's getting fixed and the car checks out...
Hopefully will pick up on the weekend

The Mercedes Benz B Service is required every 2 years or 20,000 miles. If your newly purchased 2021 has not had it done already the photo below shows what is performed and the part# and price for B service. I had my done 2019 C63s coupe at a MB Dealership and cost $963.32 or may want to use an Indy. I glad the car checked out for you.

Thanks. I know the prices and labor rates are outrageous at the MB dealership.
Just for convenience/time I had B Service completed at the dealership.
My 4 year warranty expired this April and during this B Service I purchased a MB extended warranty for 2 years/75,000 miles. I believe I have an Indy close to where I live and especially when needing brakes/rotors will go that route.
I really shouldn't say way overpriced.. just a much more aggressive matrix system than we have set up in our store that's all. Yeah I would go a good indy when that time comes, if you need any part #'s, hmu and i might be able to get some better pricing for ya on the side

Need to change the piano black center console, as I can't take the fingerprints. Carmarka in Dubai has one that is bot obscenely expensive so may try that
Front lip had a bit of damage on the top edge (you can see it in the pic). I think the RWCarbon GTX Carbon Fiber Front Lip looks like it overlaps the stock one rather than sit underneath, so that would fix that

I'd like to have the exhaust flaps open 100% in sport / sport+, but stock in others. So far all I've seen in expensive units with remotes which isn't a great option. Looking for something (SW mod?) that just ties in to the drive modes if that exists
ECU stage 1 is likely. Not sure about TCU / CPC. Would love a bit more aggressive downshifts and rev/speed limiter removal, but the price of the TCU and CPC tunes is a bit much for me. We'll see
I plan on keeping this one awhile (famous last words...), so will pick away at it.
