Precise instructions for enabling rear brake pad fitting - 2021 AMG C63S

Hi Benz fans!

Can anyone share the precise instructions for engaging rear brake pad change mode on a 2021 C63S AMG?

While this is a "W205" car, the DIY's I've found online do not seem to directly apply to this particular vehicle and with the way you navigate it's instrument cluster and I can't actually find instructions that seems to match this car.

It's not my vehicle (911 Turbo and M3 guy here) and I'm helping a friend put in new track pads. I did the fronts with ease, and while I thought we had the rears taken care of when he disengaged the electronic parking brake and I heard the rear caliper actuator make a noise, the piston just doesn't seem to retract enough for me to get the new pads in (EBC Blue) using my pad spreader. They're overall ~17mm thick including the backing plate and the existing pads that are about a year old are are ~13mm.

I did see one DIY involved removing the piston actuator backing hardware and manually turning it with a socket to retract it further, but that only seemed necessary if you couldn't tell the car to do it.

These are also aftermarket race pads, so it seems possible I might have done everything right and I've got the piston as far back as it can go, and they just might be a little too thick for the calipers. If that's the case I'll have to figure out grinding them down a bit (probably orbital sander, course sandpaper, gloves, face mask, shop vacuum unless I can spend half an afternoon calling places all over Miami to try and find someone to do it)...

My friend has his car back and I'm hoping to find something to send him to try and enable/disable rear pad fitting mode so I can avoid that ugly mess. Please help me mbworld.org, you're my only hope

See the attached PDF. I wrote this up for my Indy who struggled the first time I had them change the rear pads and had to show it to them, so now I just put this in the trunk with the parts to install. Only thing to be aware of is that the steering wheel buttons are labeled differently depending on whether the car has the driver assistance package or not. Either way you have to press and hold the left button. In cars with the driver assist package like mine, that button is Home/Back combined, but in cars without the driver assist package it's the Back button and the Home button is on the right of the touchpad.

This is awesome - figured pushing in one of the the black 'touchpad' buttons was going to be the equivalent of "OK". Will report back!

Yep, that did it - thank you! EBC RP-1 Track pads installed on the front and EBC Blues in the rear. He did have the driver assistance package so it was a matter of hitting the left / back button.
