Non forged internals on FL C63S?

Just browsing on FB, came across so
someone claiming FL c63S don’t have forged pistons. When asked for proof they said “my own pistons when I took them out”. This actually true? I thought all the c63S PFL and FL ran forged rotating assemblies.

Same part number for both facelift and prefacelift on EPC A1770300800 so that's already raising suspicions of bullsh*t.

agreed. I very much doubt Mercedes would got the trouble of having another part made of weaker material, risking warranty claims.

Everything should be the same as pre facelift except for the slightly smaller turbos

Even that turned out to be BS as far as I remember. FWIW, the above piston seems to be for the GT. The different power levels of the M177/M178 use different pistons. Some are forged and some are not as far as I know and they have different shapes. I got to see the different pistons when I did the factory tour.

The guy who stated that owns a c63s coupe with the entire e63s engine and drivetrain swapped in. He did take apart his motor as far as I believe so he may be right.

E63 is a different engine, stronger forged rods, different pistons too iirc. So that would make sense.
(Have had plenty of FL and PFL turbos through our shop, all the same, inlet manifolds are different)

different pistons makes sense as C runs much higher compression vs E. So does the c63S pre and post face lift have fully forced rotating assembly?

I would assume E also had stronger rods for the bigger boost and 100ish HP more.
