Black Friday Sales! Turbos, intakes, manifolds, cooling, methanol and more
When shopping for a turbo, the top considerations should be spool characteristics and ultimate flow capability.
With sufficient fueling we are able to maintain 35+psi without maxing out the turbo. With complete OEM fueling on 93 we typically see 26-29psi being the max, (between 700-730whp based on other mods).
With that being said here is a dyno of a complete stock fueling car, I believe running 27psi target. They opted to limit the torque considerably as you can see it flatten out just beyond 3,500rpm.
With methanol injection acting as a secondary fuel source we can up the boost substantially. The graph below is our shop car (we were having wastegate issues hence the waves). Notice the power/torque level at 4krpm compared to other turbos. These spool very quickly while others take another 1k rpm+ to reach full boost.
im having issues. I have to hit 2-3 hard laps in race mode and it’s climbing past 230 easily.
