CATLESS DPS WITHOUT TUNE (STAGE 0)

I want to install catless downpipes to get the best sound possible but do not want to tune the car performance wise for more HP etc. basically don’t want to go stage 1. However, I don’t want to be staring at a CEL constantly. Somebody told me you can basically “Stage 0” your car, which they will basically manipulate the ECU so that you don’t have a CEL and you’re “Stage 0”. This def sounds possible. Can any tuner do this? Has anybody done this? Any down sides?

Depending if your car is pre or post facelift all you need might need to do is put O2 spacers on.

it is preface lift. Would the o2 spacers work? If so do you suggest where exactly I should get these o2 sensors?

Genuine question: why wouldn't you get a tune as well if you're already flashing the ECU to get the CEL mapped out?

Don't know if it's the same for the W205 M177 (I assume it is), but from my experience several years ago with my W203 C55, o2 spacers don't work well on Mercedes; the diagnostic system is too complex and will throw a code; you'll need to have a tuner tell the ECU to ignore the fault.

I was on the same boat as OP was, so I just went with a secondary cat delete and AWE track exhaust, which surprisingly increased the sound a significant amount and got much more attention. Personally, I did not want to get a tune because of the feed back I kept getting from other C63 owners I DM'd on Instagram. Out of like 10 people I asked, 8 did not recommend it if I was not willing to shell out more money for repairs. I do see a lot of people without issues, but I wanted the best reliability and that would be stock tune.
