Downshift throttle blip without pops?

Hi all,

Random but is it possible to have the throttle blip you get on downshifts when in S+ mode but without the pops and bangs?

Does anyone else feel pops and bangs are becoming a bit chavy? I say it because SO many crappy boy racer cars have been modified to do it now, we live near some dual carriageways and its all you can hear at night - the endless sound of some wheezy 1.4 being rung out and then popping off like an AK47.

The merc has the wonderful v8 noise, and I know the pops aren't over the top in terms of numbers but might be nice to have the lovely blip downshift noise without the pops. I have a 2015 C63S.

I agree with you on this as i've just gotten out of a 19 Alfa Romeo Guilia Qv which had a beautiful blip on down shifts without all that fake pops and bags.
Ive only had my 2017 c63s coupe for a couple of months and have played around with all the settings but have found that Sport mode is really the only mode that gives you that more of a natural sound in terms of down shifts without the pops and bags which can be a bit over the top at times.

That is VERY easy to avoid. Dont drive like a boy racer in S+ mode all the time.

But then you don't get the nice throttle blips, so you are missing my point. It's nice just shifting down gears and hearing the noise - even when driving normally. This is what I like about the C63, I can drive at normal speeds but enjoy that lovely sounding engine.

The PFL has the fake pops&bangs no matter what. Some people live for it, but I'm with you, I find them annoying if they happen w/o a purpose. This is why I've preferred the sound of the FL since it came out. It pops&bangs when I drive it hard in the canyons in Race mode to keep the turbos spooled, because after all it's supposed to be an anti-lag feature, but when I'm just hooning around on the road I get the nice V8 sound with the blip on the downshifts and only occasionally a pop if I downshift from above 4000 rpm and really get on it. It sounds more real. There's one douchbag that passes by my neighborhood regularly in a ricer something and if I'm out on the sidewalk it literally hurts my ears. It stops being funny at that point.

Good comment, thank you.

I love the noise of the car, and the pops is a minor thing really, the lack of traction/AWD is the only 'issue' I have with the car, if the FL was AWD I would probably change to that.....maybe an E63 is what I need next but then its probably not as good to drive.
I just love the way the C63 sounds when you are just driving around, especially at slow speeds etc, sunroof open - it sounds epic, yet is still a practical 4 door family car, which is what I need, and isn't massive (Not a fan of cars being any larger/wider than I need, especially on small UK roads).
