There is one that's part of the low-pressure pump that's mounted on, and sticks into, the fuel tank (accessible after removing the rear seat).
The previous owner of the C63 S I had had been using 94 octane (Canadian) gas in the car and it's likely that the station he was getting it from sold a low volume of that fuel grade (highest octane normally available, here). The filter on the low-pressure fuel pump ended up mostly plugged by black algae-like "gunk" (the service manager saved it to show me 'cause he knew I'd geek out on it).
I'd guess there's also an in-line filter somewhere, as well, but will let others confirm/deny that one.
