2017 C63s running temperatue

Hi all

Just wondering what the C63s running temperature should be. I did about a 30 minute cruise through town yesterday and on way home noticed that my engine temp was sitting at 100 degrees Celsius. I was cruising in sports + mode (i like the sound of downshifting in this mode).

What do you all consider as "normal" running temps. At what stage should you be concerned?

Cheers

That's perfectly normal temperature. You may see anything from around 90C to 115C or so depending on how hard you drive it and how hot it is outside. As long as the temperature displays are white, you are fine. It turns red if the temps are too high. Around 100C in town is pretty normal. My 2019 got an ECU update a year or so ago, since then I'm seeing slightly lower oil temperatures when cruising on the highway and somewhat in general. With just normal driving it used to be around 100C, now it's more around 93-95. They made some adjustments. Used to have issues with the oil sensor giving false warnings that the oil is low and I had a misfire. They updated the ECU in response to the misfire and it hasn't happened since. The oil sensor also hasn't acted up anymore since the update.

Also, temperature display is color coded. Temperature display colors and meaning:

Blue - Cold
White - Normal
Red - Hot

As long as they don't show red or never turn from blue to white, there's nothing to really worry about. With the pre-2019, there is a known issue of rocks puncturing the lower radiators below the grill, though. Higher than usual transmission temperature is a possible sign of a puncture. The 2019+ have protective mesh to minimize/eliminate the issue.

100c is very normal in Sports+ around town with a stock C63s. You can easily reach over 110c in Sports+ mode if you gave it a squirt here and there and got stuck in traffic after.
