I have a 2020 and found some conflicting models for a non-S in terms of what is the correct fluid for the base diff. 75w90 or 75w140 NS?
It seems FCP Euro and Rock Auto suggests 75w140 NS while ECSTuning suggests 75w90.
I have the 2019 C63 S coupe and had the differential fluid changed about 1,800 miles (required) and again about 2-3 years later. I have the MB invoices and will be home Sunday so I can see what oil was used and part number if you still need it.
Yes I think you’re right. I dug a bit more and it seems that if it’s any Limited slip, then 75w140, if it’s not a limited slip, then 75w90 is the general rule with Mercedes.
I have it somewhere in my invoices as well, but I would have to dig it up, too. For the FL, both the S and non-S have the same electronic locking differential, so the fluid is the same. For the PFL, the non-S had a mechanical limited slip differential, so it was different. The FL also no longer requires a fluid change right after the brake-in period. This requirement was eliminated. The latest version of the e-diff no longer requires this.
I'm only at 10k miles but 5 years in my C63 so I think it's time to change it. I am going to use Redline 75w140 GL5.
Oh yes, actually it's way overdue if this is your first change. There's a time component to it. If I remember correctly, it's every 3 years or 30k miles whichever comes first.

Only the change after the break-in period is no longer required as confirmed by AMG Germany itself. I still ended up doing it as a piece of mind, but I called AMG Germany and they confirmed that technically it wasn't needed anymore for my VIN.
Okay according to GPT, the fluid might just need break in and apparently there’s a differential fluid re-learning procedure if you have dealer Diag tools. Going to check if my scanner supports this.
Does it have what differential fluid to use in the Operators Manual that came in the glove box? I have a 2010 W204 and it has all the approved fluids with capacities in the back, oil, coolant, diff fluid, brake fluid etc.

Then just look for what you have. It will give you the MB spec for what should be used. When I was looking for gear oil I made sure that it had the MB spec printed on the label. I happen to find Febi brand oil that meets the MB spec for mine. Fuchs was also listed.
