Keep or Sell my C63s?
I’ve had my 2019 C63s since 2022 (2nd owner). It’s a bit above 50k miles now. However for the past 6 months, I have not really been driving it… less than 1k miles in these past 6 months. I’m scared to put on more miles and kill the value. So, I’ve been driving it around town every week to keep the juices flowing.
My dilemma is, I’m getting tired of driving the work truck or wife's car (GLE) all the time and I need to make a decision. I still greatly enjoy driving the vehicle when I do and all its in-and-outs - aside from the cost of perishables ofc lol
From what I see selling, these facelift ‘S’ coupes are worth good money still (up to $60k). I have been contemplating selling mine and buying something else, or keeping it. I am at a crossroads and need some help from any of you who have acted on those same thoughts.
I’ve narrowed it down to the following options;
1.) Sell it and get something else (991 Carrera S 3.8l, or a C7 grand sport; manual for both). Being as I have another MBZ in the garage and a truck, I don't see myself getting another Mercedes. I’ve driven the AMG GT (not comfortable) and E63S (beast but not as nimble).
2.) Keep the car but drive it <5k mikes a year and hope it doesn't kill the value of the car. Possible future classic?
Please let me know your thoughts!
Thanks!

So many of these cars were made I doubt they'll be classics in the future. If you enjoy the car, drive it and don't worry about the miles. I don't think twice about putting miles on my car. In my opinion, having a fun car and not driving it is like having a hot girlfriend and not (use your imagination) with her to keep the "miles off."

sidenote: with the catted DPs, how much louder is it and do you get more bangs/pops?

Just drive the car. If you are worried about losing $30,000 in value on an AMG sports car, unfortunately it’s probably time to leave the chat…. perhaps buy something where depreciation can be better afforded, or not worried about. Do you think anyone is really making money on their low mileage 507’s? No… it’s just been a slightly slower depreciation, but that value isn’t even carrying their carrying costs so the only thing those owners are experiencing is the loss of happiness from actually using their vehicles as they are meant.

This is something that causes my hesitation to buy a 911. The car is undoubtedly a more precise driving machine than a c63s, especially when pushed it to its limits. Body roll isn't a thing with a 911 due to its junk in the trunk. My old girl definitely struggles with tire and brake heat after a couple runs and starts to get loosey like a drunk uncle on thanksgiving. However to your point, I think the w205 C63s coupe is the most comfortable 2-door coupe; after the S-class coupe of course.

I am leaning toward a 911, as a C7 would be a step down imo. If anyone has had a 911 and has any advice/opinions, that would be greatly appreciated!

Regarding the tires since you are now leaning towards getting a 911, the Porsche N-rated PS4S has a similar 4 compound make up and internal construction improvements as the BMW variant. Over the years, I've come to learn that tires can make a huge difference, but the regular aftermarket tires try to accommodate too many different cars, so the OE specific variants is where it's at. I was disappointed that AMG didn't upgrade the tires in the FL and stuck with the tired PSS, but finally BMW came to the rescue with a variant that suits the front engine setup and happens to be in the right sizes for the C63S Coupe. The Porsche N-rated version is reinforced in the rear to handle the engine being back there, so it wouldn't be the right fit for the C63 even if available in the right sizes, but the M3/4 and the C63 are same layout and ballpark weight.

As for 911, forum member superswiss that chimed in your thread had experiences with them if I recalled correctly, he much prefer the MCT over the PDK for its character alone. Don't forget you have the V8 in the C 63 S versus not.
