Sounds a bit dramatic, but those are the standard parameters for lithium batteries. Since the car can't be plugged in to charge the battery, this makes sense. Not saying it's ideal. Wouldn't be the car for me as I don't drive enough, so I'd probably have constant battery issues now that I think about it.

Came across this article today. Some more info and some spy shots of the FL. Star headlights apparently. The new V8 engine code is apparently M177 Evo. Power rating is speculation, 530 seems low, although the C63 SE's sustained power is around 540. The full 680hp are only available for 10 seconds. Also a typo that the new engine is based on the M177 LS2. That engine doesn't have a flat plane crank. That should say M178 LS2.

Good info to the M177 Evo.
Yesterday i saw a video about the C63 2.0L apart from this that this enginge has only 4 Cyl the construction and engineering is great. Anybody here who knows the engine code ?

M139 and yes it's essentially half of the M177. Or the M177 is two M139. The code is actually M139 L, because it's longitudinally (L) mounted in the C63, where these small engines are normally transversely mounted such as is the case in the CLA/A 45.

If AMG were to develop the M177 Evo to the same extent
as the M 139 ( world powerful OEM 4 Cyl) , it would have 938 hp - crazy. What the people at AMG achieve is truly outstanding worldwide.

I think the M177 is actually based on the predecessor of the M139: the M133.

Chronologically, that's correct. The M177 is essentially two M133 joined together with a Hot-V turbo setup, then they split it in half again for the M139 incorporating all the learnings from the M177 LS1 and LS2. I didn't mean to say that the M177 was based on the M139.

Theoretically, that's absolutely true. They get over 400hp out of the M139 L, like 440 I believe, so two of them and we are essentially talking 900hp. The issue with that is of course the emissions. Twice the air going through, essentially means twice the emissions all else being equal. So, in reality it will have to be detuned, combined with the flat crank and the mild hybrid system to meet the much stricter Euro 7 regulation. The M139 is a Euro 6 engine.

No, none of the existing models currently have the M177 Evo. Rumor is the first car to get it is the FL S63 that's about to be unveiled, and then it will come to the CLE 63 and other 63 models as they get facelifted.

Define hybrid. It's gonna have at least mild hybrid. Not sure what the future of the P3 Hybrid system is, but word on the street is that the upcoming facelift S63 will drop it, which will cut 500 lbs from the curb weight. Not sure if the P3 Hybrid system will live on with the M177 Evo in some models.

Yeah, they invited some members of the press to a strategy meeting in Affalterbach. The C53 was officially confirmed, but there's likely no V8 coming to the C Class. The C63 looks like is going to be discontinued, but a V8 for the CLE 63 is all but confirmed and looks like there's gonna by a Mythos model for the CLE that was teased recently. Black Series is also still alive, so there will be another Black Series at some point. No word yet on which model it is going to be based on. Seems like AMG is worried about stopping the customers that have been leaving to competitors such as BMW, so revealing early what's coming might be their way of hoping the customers will come back, once these models are all officially revealed. .
