[Ontario] 2019 C43 Coupe Bargaining tips?

Hi everyone.

Trust all is well.

First post on here so forgive any mistakes. I am planning on ordering a 2019 C43 Coupe (all options) later this year for a January 2019 delivery.

Anyone has any tips/insight as to how much negotiation room one will have at that time? I will be financing the car and open to either the dealership or a credit union for better rates.

Given:
- It will be year end of sales cycle so they might want to meet their quota
- More negotiation room if I am getting all options?
- Any base line to start negotiating from?
- Is there a benefit of buying from corporate/non corporate dealers?
- Can I aim for a 10% discount off MSRP or more?
- Can I even order a 2018 C43 at that time to get a better deal?

Thanks in advance.

LOL. If you want to negotiate you should be looking at a Ford. The dealership profit margin is somewhere between 4 and 6%. You might be able to get maybe $2K off on a $60K+ car if you are willing to get something that they already happen to have in stock for immediate pickup, and you'll get the discount offered up front when you first talk to the salesperson. You can negotiate about as much as you can while buying a carton of milk at the supermarket.

for preorder car, dealer will most likely give you 4% off as the so-called typical discount. If you want more, you will have to shop around with all the dealers in your area/region to see who will play ball with you. If there is factory credit on your delivery month, then you will get that too. MB markup on all the cars fall in the 11% range. Just a side note, if you are picking up the car in January, there may not be any good factory credit going on at the time. December would typically have added Xmas credit allowance and Jan & Feb will have little, then Mar onwards, you will likely see MB Canada will start to offer the spring event which you will see factory credits which would be similar to the December time. However, the residual will have fallen compared to December as the car depreciates during the model year.

As for trying to get the leftover of 18 C43, you will have to call around at the time, if there are leftovers, you will likely get a significant discount, probably in the 9-10% range + factory credit (if applicable).
