That's cool...I have a couple in my golf/travel humidor now. They are a good smoke at a reasonable price.

Right now my favorite(s) are (not in any particular order). I try to keep a box of each in the humidor(s) (which reminds me I need to get a bigger humidor):

1. Rocky Patel Decade Robusto
2. Graycliff Double Espresso
3. Padron 1926 Anniversary
4. Padilla Miami 8&11
5. La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Maduro

All are phenomenal maduro cigars. I bet that Graycliff is magnificent and the La Flor very tasty as well. What are your thoughts on the Arturo Fuente Hemingway Masterpiece?

Any suggestions for a nice desktop humidor? 25-100 pc for the office?

I have a igloo home made humidor at home... but don't think it would be fitting in our office... any suggestions?

My local cigar shop has the CAD Soprano Limited Edition wondering if I should pull the trigger.

CAO Sopranos is a good cigar and a decent humidor. Beware of the $50-100 humidors that are made of cheap cedar. They hold the humidity fine, but they look cheap.

I would recommend investing in a Prometheus or Savoy humidor

My favorite is the Padron Executivo - maduro or otherwise - the regular wrapper is very close to the maduro. Nice, rich, smoke. I'm in SoFla, so other things are available. One must be very careful buying Cohiba - many counterfeits are on the market.

jay631 10-30-2009 11:28 AM

I like a cigarette and shisha also!! :)

I used to smoke a few cigars but have not had the time to enjoy one for a while :)

Benson and hedges silver is my main brand! " I will give up one day soon"

rkjacobs63 10-30-2009 05:49 PM

If there is an seriosuness to this thread any longer.. yes I smoke Cigars.. Cuban Cohiba's when I can get REAL ones.

Montecristo Platinum Vintage 1999's are pretty decent as of late. La Gloria Cubana Figurados are excellent too.

Hey, if you're looking to make a statement, channeling Cruella is about the best you can do. That's an image engrained in just about every American beyond the age of 40... now, how to spin it into something less negative?

To begin with, make sure you're not wearing any fur or leather. The fur is an easy thing to overlook, but most nice shoes are leather and an environmentalist/PETA type will be quick to point out your hypocrisy. That does narrow your choices somewhat, but surely you can find something appropriate on Zappos...

Shifting back to the topic at hand... I enjoy a good cigar every now and then. Special occasion type of thing. I used to be a regular cig smoker, however have gotten out of that. Only a few minor transgressions in the last year or so.

Best smoke I've had all year? Oliva Serie V.

I can't help but love a Rocky Patel Vintage 1990. I've got one wating for me now :) I'm also gonna try a CAO MX2 Maduro. Haven't tried any CAO cigars yet as I'm fairly new to it all and only smoke on occasion.

For any newbies though try a RP Vintage 1990 or 1992. You can't go wrong.

I'm hooked on RP's Decade cigar...a RP Decade robusto and some Glenlivit 18yr old is a great combination.

Lol I had a decade cigar once right as I was unknowingly coming down with a bug of some kind and it put my butt down hard. It was like a bad hangover and I thought it was just to stout and I was a puss but everything made me sick for the next day from whatever it was.

LOL...It does start out strong but it smoothens out once you get past the first 1/4 of the stick. I'm usually good for one Robusto Decade per 9 holes of golf...

CAO cigars are great. I recommend the CAO Maduro, CAO America (even better when you age it a little bit) and CAO CX2, if you like cameroon wrappers.

Cigar smoker here. Living in Dubai I'm buying cigars for $6USD that I use to pay $30USD - $40USD for in Canada - no duty. My huidor is packed right now, filled with Upmann, Davidoff, Romeo & Julieta & Griffin's. Nothing better than a good aged cigar and a glass (or 3) of JD Single Barrel Silver Select :)

SoCalCLK 07-27-2010 01:18 AM

First off, I must compliment you on that wonderful white CLK500 in your sig. The rims are amazing and the car looks fantastic. Another example of how EMEA has better cars than we do.

As for cigars, excellent selection. Glad to hear that living in Dubai has some excellent perks. Keep us posted on your smokes!

Thanks for the comments, I just bought the car about a month ago. I've been driving a '05 C200 since I moved to Dubai in '06, I got sick of just 'commuting' and wanted to start 'driving' again. I wanted a CLK55 but they (along with the 500 & 550's) are very, very hard to come by in Dubai nowadays, it's all 63 blackies. Anyways, found this one and love it. I have a freind in Canada collecting parts for me (about 20 now) that are going to be shipped to Dubai along with my household items that have been stored for 4 years (I joined a new company here so it's going to be a long term deal now, exactly what I wanted, Dubai rocks!) in September. Gave the C200 to the wife, she was pretty damn happy with the upgarde from the '09 Altima.

As for the cigars, I like to age them in the humidor (some are 3 years old now) and enjoy them later. The Davidoff's age up really nicely in 3 months but the Upmann's are spectacular after a year or two :y

You've got a hell of a sharp looking CLK there yourself mate, looks brand new.

AMGfan 07-27-2010 10:58 PM

Going on a golf trip to Myrtle Beach and I just picked up a box of Rocky Patel Robusto Decades AND a bottle of Glenrothes 1991 (single speyside malt scotch whisky) for the 19th hole...

The RP Decades have been consistently a great smoke for me...medium to full bodied and with an even burn (great ash)...with the Glenrothes it should be a great combination...:)

Thanks for the compliment, my friend. Being in California and having a garage, it's not too hard to keep cars in good condition, just wash and wax them on a regular basis.

Great insights on Dubai. It seems like a cool place to be. You must see some crazy ass cars down there.

Davidoffs are great, as are CAOs, La Gloria Cubana Reserva and Arturo Fuentes.

I love Cuban cigars, but hard to find any. Any members that do, send me a pm. :)

Oh yes, the Monticristos are awesome. For a while I was a CAO fan, though I have expanded to Monticristos and Comachos. Favorite smoke: Monticristo Series V Robosto. Something about the way it aged in my humidor made them simply awesome.

Thought I'd bring this thread back from the dead as it's my first post. I'm from So Cal but just moved to MO (I'm still asking myself why?!). I recently found some new smokes which I think are great. Diesel "Unholy Cocktail" and Omar Ortez make dynamite figurados. The limited H Upmann Signature line is great, although I've only tried the "Double Eagle".

As a comparison, I usually love and stock TT Trinidads, AVO #2's (maduro), Rocky Patel "The Edge", Perdomo "Lot 23". I'm partial to maduros and figurado shapes. I love but rarely buy Ashton VSG's and Padron Anniversarios since I get my Cubanos much cheaper.

I've got some 16 y.o. Partgas 150's and Opus X's in my humidor in LA that I will probably never get around to shmoking....

SoCal to MO, whoa! Hopefully the new surroundings don't include $4.29 a gallon gas, haha.

Great cigar picks. I am partial to maduros and figurados as well. Also torpedos. Hopefully you have also found some good places to relax and enjoy a cigar. With the draconian laws in this state, the only places left are my own yard.

If you ever need someone to smoke those Opus X's in L.A., let me know! :D
