03 cl500 suspension dropping while in park while the car is running
Hi guys, so I just picked up an 03 cl500 a week ago. The ABC seems to work well, however I have noticed that while the car is in park but running the suspension dips a little. I sat in the car waiting for about 20 mins and it just kept dropping a little over time. When I got out to see just how low it had dipped it didn't look unusually low.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. |
It adjusts itself if you are sitting parked with the car running . That is normal
You can probably feel the sudden dips but not the slow rise |

Both of my 600s have done this, I thought it was bad but it is considered "normal".
FWIW, if you dig around, there is an updated ABC controller that uses different programming to eliminate this, it has a different oscillation of the valves when parked so you don't feel the sudden change. It is strictly a comfort update, there is nothing wrong with the early ones. So it can be fixed, but there's no reason to unless you need a new ABC module. |
