2003 CL600 SRS Warning on Dash came back after repair

2003 CL600 SRS Warning on Dash came back after repair after spending $800 to replace the control unit. This happened about 3 months after the repair and the Mercedes mechanic I used will not stand by it after that long. He states he can replace again but that makes no sense to me. Is there a way to stop the SRS warning indicator to stop comeing up on the dash every time I start the car?

Nope, what you needed months ago was a mechanic with DAS Xentry who would have found the issue in minutes and corrected---now you need the same guy and more money or sell the car to some sap who doesn't know what SRS means.

Lots of things can trigger the srs light

Most often it is the passebger side seat sensor

lots of things like wrong variant coding and wrong coding parameters
you need someone with DAS at least and if possible developer mode

sometimes a stupid-*** programs a new module without resetting some concerned connected modules
so everything works until the system resets by itself, and the error appears

don't stress too much, as Plutoe said, you should have done that in the first place
just hook up Xentry

75¨% of MB dealers are rip-offs and/or ignorant

Tusabes is right about the passenger seat bottom sensor. I have trouble with mine occasionally. Another option for you is to get a scanner that reads Euro car codes. I use a Carsoft scanner and it will read every system on my car and will clear any codes. You could pull up any SRS codes and go from there. Sometimes, just clearing the code will "fix" the problem but most likely any code found will point you to the problem.
