Battery not charging

After removing cancer(ABC) from my car... It's now infected with malaria https://mail.google.com/mail/e/1f611 .... I got this red warning message on dashboard for Battery Visit workshop. At 1st I ignored this ( I'm so stupid) because the car was still running. I drove to my destination and while parking saw ABS, ESP Coolant etc warning message on my dashboard. My steering got hard and the temperature went to 110. I ordered new battery(Verta - Germany) and replaced the existing one(Nova- Korean). But the battery warning showed up again. The battery guy check the amp with his machine and it showed 11 ( which should be 13). He said the alternator needs to be replaced. I read posts at forum about big pre fuse underneath passenger carpeting namely x4/10 fuse. I think instead of going directly to the alternator replacement, I should check this x4/10 fuse. So, i went through the Hidden Fuse thread and I'm still confused with the exact location. Accidentally, I found this place - in front of passenger seat & below the dash I removed the carpet. Please advice if this is where I will find that x4/10 fuse. Also, I will appreciate more suggestions and solutions specially the do's and dont's for this problem.
Thanks!

Is the x4/10 fuse behind this panel ? ( Also, the cigar fuse? )

UPDATE

I found the x4/10 fuse. So basically I just need to try replacing this and see if the problem is solved. I hope its the culprit here :violent:

Why not just test for continuity in situ?

If you got all those faults the first thing I would check is your accessory belt under the hood. Sounds like it broke and none of the pulleys (Alternator, water pump, etc.) are being spun, therefore all the faults.

Can't charge a battery unless the alternator is being spun. Can cool the car unless the water pump is being spun.

Check and let us know. If the belt is broken I would also check the belt tensioners as when they fail it will throw belts.

Listen to awiner

this is either your fan belt or a bad alternator
not a fuse

Thanks Awiner for your valuable advice. I will definitely check the belts. I actually started with x4/10 fuse mainly because my problem seemed similar to the ones mention on this thread ( https://mbworld.org/forums/cl-class-...ator-help.html ) ..
Because if I replace my existing battery with a new one then all the warning messages will go away except for the battery warning (Red) . The coolant, A.C., steering, dashboard, headlights, etc will all start working as normal until the new battery starts to drain out. Taking my car to a garage directly will do nothing better as the only solution they have is the Alternator replacement. I hope to check the basics 1st and then go ahead with the repairs. I will appreciate more help with this issue.

Thanks Tusabes for your advice. I started with the fuse mainly because of this thread - https://mbworld.org/forums/cl-class-...ator-help.html

Just trying to reduce the expenses and avoid unwanted replacements.

UPDATE

The problem was the alternator. I got it replaced with a new BOSCH alternator and the car is ok now. However, I would like to know what readings should a multimetre(Amp) show on the battery after the car is switched on. The mechanic told me that it should be above 12amp. Please advice.
Thanks

Did you ever figure out how to change the fuse thingy under the passenger foot well?

Battery Visit workshop

Hello guys. Hope some of you are still attached to this thread, I need some help. I have the same issue, Battery Visit workshop. i haven't replaced anything yet, I'm taking my time diagnosing, and I'm suspecting the alternator is the problem, but since replacing the alternator is gonna require replacing the belt and tensioner, that's a lot of money, so I' m being extra cautious not replacing any thing until I'm 100% sure that it what causes the problem. okay I'm I'm not asking here how to check the batteries or the alternator and voltage regulator, nor the ×4/10 fuse because I have done that using my voltmeter, plus both batteries and voltage regulator still almost new not a year old, there is no alternator wiring problem, but it is not charging the battery. now the question here regards the auxiliary battery relay. if I've confirmed that everything ok except the alternator not charging thebattery, Can a faulty auxiliary battery relay prevent the alternator from charging? Or is it only its properties to control sending and stopping current to the battery?? any opinions or suggestions will be appreciated.
