So in my search for the cars ambient air temp sensor I notice this one wire in the hood, under the grill (by the windshield) with a connector. Thinking I may have found what I was looking for I proceed to remove the panel and see it goes across the hood to an identical connector and loops back to the passenger side. There is also a black box thats dead center between the grills.
Being the curious type, what is this? Something to do with the auto wipers? All my other cars had the sensor stuck to the windshield.

Any input would be appreciated.

I believe those are the connections for the heated washer nozzles.
