Track pads - alternative to Yellowstuff
The 8 piston calipers up front and 4-piston units at the back on our 55k, 600 and 65’s seem to have more pad options across the pond than here in the UK.
Here, we have lots of generic pads but for fast road and track options, we’re kinda stuck with EBC.
I took my 600 to the ring last year and the only thing I could find were yellowstuff, which performed ok - but it was cold and wet. I’m planning a spring trip next year in the hope it won’t be cold and wet, so I can open the taps a bit more - and I’m struggling to find anything else.
Looking up pads for the W211 E55 AMG seems to be more promising, with Akebono, Carbotech, Hawk and others all appearing in (deep) searches, but all in the states with no UK suppliers. Pagid racing (shape 8027) seem ambiguous to find, but turn up prices of competition pads (around $800!), which I’m not into.
Am I going to have to order from the US - or can anyone shed light?
