Squeeking Brakes

Hi Guys

I just have had this porblem on by CL 550 for a while now that just doesnt go away. After driving the car for more than an hour or so the brakes start sqeeking at idle speed (when braked at very low speed). Dealer says brakes are OK and are not woren out at all.

Could it be the heat from the weather or is it from humiditiy as i just dont get why this is happening when the brakes are completely fine.

my S600 did the same thing, put Akebono ceramic pads on and no problem or squealing since. Been about 2 months. the old pads on it were metallic not ceramic.

My brakes squeak as well.

the saddest part is that my cara is less than a year old and i am really not going to change the pads when i know they are fine.

im sure there is something that can be done

Not certain of your location or model year:

If new MBUSA covers wheel alignment, road-force wheel/tire balancing, and brake (i.e.: pads, rotors – brake squeal) for the first 12 months or 12000 miles.

For AC odor mention DTB S-B-83.30/74p, the dealer will clean the system and replace filters under initial factory or extended warranty. In addition, https://mbworld.org/forums/3649173-post1.html

My service advisor told me there is a brake pad upgrade available for S and CL that are squeek free. They should swap these out under warranty but they aren't.

I'm going for porterfield R4S pads next (Carbon Kevlar material). I've never had squeeks on the 3 sets I went through on my C class and ML. And they are very low dust pads, can go 1 week before I start noticing the dust build up.

Are ceramics better than carbon kevlar? just curious on peoples experience with them and how's the dust build up?
