Question about error P0456

Hi all,

I bought a 07 CL600 with almost 100k miles with all history records and in very good shape. I picked it up from Philly 2 weeks ago and drove it home with no issues at all but last night driving back home the following light came on the dashboard:

I ran icarsoft mb2 for ECM module and the following came up:

I couldn't tell any difference in driving to be honest, but the question is what is that about? how can I fix it? and if it's safe to keep driving it in the meantime?

Thanks in advance,
Leo

Hi Leo.

Start with the obvious: the fuel tank cap. Check if it is tight enough, and also check if the gasket is intact.
After that, you can check the EVAP lines for cracks.

However, small leak can be hard to trace. This is where smoke generator helps, as you fill the system with smoke and see where it goes out.

I'll check the fuel tank cap, I think the rest is beyond my level of expertise (which is almost nonexistent hehe). But thanks a lot, at least I know what the mechanic should look for.

I checked the fuel tank cap and it looked ok. I cleared the codes and it was fine for a couple of days but when the fuel gauge got to half the light came on again. I just refilled the tank and cleared the codes again, just wondering if getting to half triggers a check.
But anyways I'll take it to the mechanic next week, at least I know I can drive in the meantime without any risks.
Thanks!
