2001 CL55 value

My friend's husband recently passed away and left her with a black 2001 CL55. He apparently bought it last year for $44K. It has 52K miles and looks brand new to me. The local dealer offered her 30K. She thinks this is low and I agree. Does anyone know the realistic selling point or auction value for this vehicle? The KBB values seem unrealistically high. This is on the East coast. Thanks.

That does seem low but the only way to get around it it to be patient and wait for a buyer.
It seems that demand is weak for these cars right now, prices have been declining faster than normal depreciation would suggest.

Where on the east coast? $30K is about average for a CL500. Most dealers are only going to give "average condition" trade in value and that's around $33K for that car (according to Edmunds). If he was the original owner I might be interested in it (even though that year doesn't have the SC).

CLS55
put it in the autotrader w/ some pics and see what you can get. you can always get more that way than you can from a dealer.

For the best. It's a nice car and probably has some sentimental value.

Good idea. I sold mine a month ago, an 02 CL55 w/47K for $45K and I bought it brand new too.
