What Is A Good Price On This Cl600
What is a good price and what should I be looking for on this vehicle as I'm going to see it tomorrow.

An 03 without an extended warranty is no bargin. One engine repair bill could set you back big $$.
If you have not yet noticed, the bottom has fallen from the big ticket luxury car market including the CLs. If you wait another month or so, you will see this hit reflected in all pricing.
But if you are determined check for the following:
1. Check the exterior with an electronic paint meter to determine any body work.
2. Put it on the rack and check the under side for body work, and any leaking seals.
3. Have a dealer go through the engine including a compression test and give you a print out of star diagnostic report. Also get a service history of the car. Make sure the dealer verifies the intregity of the air bag system.
4. check the vin with Netstar to make sure what are the factory build items.
5. Have the seller pay for new tires, brakes and rotors including changing of the trans and rear end fluids.
6. Make sure this is not a Florida flood or hurricane car.
If it passes on all the above, consider placing a bid. Remember, the MB Dealer has the 1st pick of lease or trades ins--others take the left overs from car auctions.....

It does look good with the Lorinser package. Another guy has a set of those EXACT Lorinser wheels he can't seem to get rid of (bid is down below $2K for the set now I think) but the body kit looks good. As others stated, the v12 engine can cost you a LOT of $$$ should something go wrong out of warranty. However, if you could get it for the $45K mark and that kind of cash is pocket change to ya, you might want to pick it up and finish the modding job with a little Renntech work.

update
offered a strong number of 47k and was told they have a dealer who will pay 50k for it and they need 55k to sell it. is the lorinser kit- exhaust-suspension-wheels that was done really 20k or can this be done on another cl600 for 10-12?

I just sold one for $49k
i just sold a mint 2003 cl600 laoded with 12k miles... yes 12k miles and a Benz warranty till 2011.....it had a set of $5k wheels on the car as well... these cars are doing crap at auction...even with that set up the car is not worth more then $35k at auction....

Decided to pass and not offer more than 48k on this car. I can't find a real good extended warranty that would cover costs no wonder the market is so down on the 600's for resale after factory warranty runs out.

in my opinion, the amg appearance pkg looks much better than the lorinser.
there is silver 03 cl600(amg sport) w/ 33kmi for sale on autotrader.com for $49k and has a mbz certified warr till 2011. car is in cali and is very clean.
i will have some more info on the extended warr from fj mercedes prob monday.
