SL63 pics sold me on getting another CL63 030
Enjoy latest/greatest-tech cars, so was considering getting SL63 030 (or SL63 BlkSeries) upon launch, but, after seeing those "leaked" pics (see leftlanenews.com), nixed idea of getting any SL63...instead, eagerly awaiting '09 CL63 030 to replace my '08 CL63 030.....
From SL pics, looks like it has the ancient-tech Distronic w/Parktronic "bulletholes"; almost unchanged, antiquated, 5yo+ interior ergonomics/design...seats w/massage controls in the useless floor-level location, lots of ugly blk plastic buttons, etc; AirScarf that looks like a WalMart-supplied fan (and wouldn't want safety risks of those headrests' hard plastic parts)....SLK-like steering wheel....
And exterior is full-on SLK-look w/the tacky CLS-look headlights, elephant-ear mirrors, ricer-look bumps on hood....likely ugly sat radio wart on trunk lid....
Doubt SL's anemic sales will recover w/this lame, codger-tech facelift, esp in today's slowing economy....what a waste of R&D dollars/effort....where's the long-overdue, new-tech AMG V12 motor????

May I ask what the '09 model will have that your '08 model doesn't? I know you have mentioned in the past that you and your colleagues need to move into a new car before 'performance deteriorates' in the 'old one' (paraphrasing there). However, you and your colleagues do not get to enjoy the maximum engine performance of these cars. An engine like the AMG 6.2L V-8 doesn't produce its maximum power until it is fully broken in. On some high performance engines it takes as much as 20K miles for the engines to fully "loosen-up". I can maybe see the brakes degradating over time after a few thousand miles but that can be remedied with new brake pads and possibly goiing with aftermarket rotors.

thats a great comparison shot! The SL is terrible! Maybe it will grow on us, who knows? I didn't particularly like the pics of the new M3 but living here in Jersey near corp hq I recently saw the 4 door V10 M3 and it looked great. Pics did it no justice. So, hold on to your seats we may still be able to be proud of our Mercs!
