Your comments on changing.

Hi fellas, would apreciate your comments.
I have a CL65 and a SL55. I love them both but I use the CL65 as a
2 seater. My wife suggest I trade them both for a SL65. Do you think
the SL65 is the ultimate?
Any comments would be welcome.

2010 CL65
Had '07 SL65 back in Summer06; have '09 CL65; will be moving to '10 CL65 once released

IMO, SL only makes sense if top-down addict (I despise convertibles, sunroofs or open windows...and also am typically only person in my car; have no use for back seat)

CL is light-years ahead of SL in many aspects...incl brake pedal feel; ergonomics of sport seats (esp side bolsters); far more advanced active safety tech; more elegant, contemporary aesthetics (stuff like buttons, door pulls, lack of Parktronic bulletholes, TeleAid antenna or sat radio lump), etc etc

Net, net, any of new 65s is among world's greatest cars

As a minimalist, I prefer to have only one car in my garage for both commuting and wkends...but have several colleagues who always keep both latest new CL65 and SL65 as daily commuter cars...to each his own

If I had to choose, I would take the SL65 over the CL65. To me the feel of the CL is numb compared to the SL65. Too soft, too big and cushy.

I will say that the new CL has the best seats of any modern AMG..... For me it just doesn't make up for the other challenges.

The SL is a great car, particularly if you have additional vehicles in your garage. Although neither the SL or the CL are especially practical cars, the CL does have the backseat, a more reasonable trunk and the full size of a relatively safe S-Class. Additionally as WSH mentions, at least compared to the current generation SL, the W216 CL is technologically the most sophisticated Mercedes ever produced. If lowering the top isn't necessary, the CL is the clear winner, although there really isn't a loser here (imo).

Thanks for all your excellent feedback. Changing to a SL65 may be harder
than I envisaged, there are only 3 for sale at MB dealers. I would have to
have warranty. When I phoned today 2 of them were sold over the weekend.
I feel a panic coming on!! Also your comments on the seats are worrying, would they be the same seats as my SL55?

I have a test drive tomorrow in the SL65, I left a deposit so buying it is
subject to driving and viewing. I have had my CL65 valeted today and just
drove it to work, it's a fabulous car, and I don't know what to do!!!

I have owned both CL65 & SL65 both very nice cars but I liked my CL65 much more so I sold the SL65. It's all a personal preferance but for me the SL didn't do it like the CL
