Wife crashes CL55, allows husband to buy CL65 - plus new wheels
Speedriven ECU/TCU in place, new intercoolers on the way. Wheel upgrade - mfg by Rennen in SoCal to special order w/ custom offset & machining and AMG logos on the centers, all work done by Tommy Phillips/California Wheels.
This look isn't for everyone, but it works for me.
PS. Previous CL55 was a very safe car, kept my wife safe even though the car was totaled.
Next: ordered Speedriven Intercooler upgrade (should be here any day), looking for a diff upgrade - anyone know what's the best LSD option for this car?

That's a great looking CL, but...
"allows"? Even if it's true, I don believe I'd a told that...
How about "husband allows wife to stay after crashing CL?"
One of the best looking cl's I've seen..

Preloading the wastegate arms by 3 turns will hold boost longer. the spring on the wastegate will have some load on it so it will start to open at a higher boost level.
BTW CL55_Serge did you get my PM?

Preloading Westgate arms
1. This technique doesn't work too well w/ our cars because the ECU has limits around detecting high boost and can cause the car to go into limp mode. My understanding is that tuners do not make this adjustment on this car.
2. This technique was used on older Japanese imports instead of getting the $100 adjustable booster kits.
3. This _can_ help on a high mileage M275 car since the wastegate springs lose their tension capacity over time and can use preloading - this typically can be done on a dyno w/ a STS or a OBDII scanner plugged and validation that boost is actually under spec.
Did you do a before/after dyno after the change or did it feel faster?

^^I can also see it creating boost spikes. That gives it a misconception that the car is making more power than it is.

Terrific car Serge! The combo looks very nice! Too low for my taste, but I'm sure the press of a button raises it to normal driving heights.
Proof a bad situation can turn into something good! Good thing your wife was not injured, as cars can be replaced but loved ones cannot.
ps Shardul seems to know tuning tricks on every benz out there

Lowering module/controller
Correct - that is the car resting at stop in it's low position. I use the EFIdude lowering module (resold by Renntech) with speed-dependent lowering (see attached photos. Raises up as I go a bit faster up to 62 where it lowers again (but not as much). I also often hit the suspension setting button and raise the car when hitting driveways or I can just leave it high all the time while driving.
The Renntech module comes with a cheap-*** Chinese mini-PC that runs Windows CE to control the module which they charge for a lot. It has a tiny screen and is way outdated. Instead, I run the controller software on a 7" Samsung Galaxy S3 which is color-matched to the CL w/ white trim. EFIdude makes the control software avail for android, which is awesome in comparison to the Windows CE mini-tablet Renntech sells.
This module is the best module out for the ABC cars, has most precise/granular lowering, plus speed dependent lowering. It also has a nice software program to run it - much more polished than firmware-only units.
There is Lo Mo module as well w/ CAN-bus based steering wheel control, but it lacks features when compared to the Renntech/EFIdude module. The other modules are way behind....
