Dyno Runs

Does this look right? 2008 Cl65.

shardul 04-15-2015 04:42 PM

there is nothing to compare that run with.

Seems down on power to me. 621 FWHP and only 402 at the wheels? CL65's are not dyno busters, but IMO something isn't right. By comparison mine made 614/722 with a tune, my CAI, and a dead intercooler pump.

ISP dyno reads lower from what I heard from racehorse told me, I'm sure he can chime in. I had mine dyno there with my mods with bad 02s and dead IC pump and it was 480 something. Only other place I checked that has a Dynojet in the area is Mach V, but they are really busy most of the time so you might have to book dyno time a week or 2 ahead of time if you want to 2x check. It's 100 for 1 hr, 135 with A/F but you can do as many as runs as you want with that hour. If you do make an appt let me know when I might have to do mine after yours since I'm swaping the IC pump and O2s this week and try dynoing my car again.

Well......that makes me feel a little better. These number are lower than what I expected for stock, let alone with a tune.

Will have to check Mach V.......where are they located?

xabo 04-15-2015 09:19 PM

I see they're in Sterling...........Will give them a call.......Thanks

Its big with the evos and wrx group. They do alot of japanese and bmws but not as many mercedes but doesnt mean they havent done any. Dan has 3-4 other 65 amgs he did before where you can compare your dyno with theres so you at least you have other 65s to compare with.

ok so?

you should probably log the car.

TwinTurboTim 04-16-2015 09:49 AM

If it were my guess it's probably got a dead intercooler pump and running 6 psi.

That is not the place to go for bragging rights, but if the car checks out and feels good you can only measure the difference on that dyno to see what is working and what is not. If the car checks out, as others have mentioned no boost leak, IATs are within reason then don't worry about it. I had super low numbers, its over 5 yrs ago and I lost track, but I did run an 11.34 on michelins the day after just a tune if that helps.

Will find another dyno and compare the figures..................
