New CL63 owner!
New 08 CL63 owner! I traded in the S63 for the CL and what a difference! Here is a photo of my "old" S63. Great car but the CL is my new favorite ride I'll post photos of the CL later today. I will be adding an Eisenmann exhaust and 22" Fabulous MB5's on the new CL link to the new rims http://www.fabuloususa.com/?_page=5&p_idx=83 Nice site you guys have here!

Thanks. I'll give a full evaluation after a few weeks of driving. Right out of the gate the CL is much more nibble than the S. I will try and post some photos up today. Anyone else waiting for the Eisenmann system?

My CL has (040) Black with (801) Black premium leather. With the AMG performance pkg
I went with the 22" MB5's with the Black Polish.

Your post arrives at the right moment for me!
I've driven a CL 63 AMG during the past weekend and am making up my mind whether to buy a CL or a S 63 AMG.
What are the specific differences? You write that the CL is more nimble, but when you look at weight, total length, ... both cars are pretty similar, at least for the "short" version of the S-class.

Here are some photos I got from Fabulous USA. I love the look of the MB5's. What do you guys think?

What did you think of the CL63? Amazing right? I didn't think there was a "short version" S available in the US. The CL had much better handling and that made the biggest difference for me.

Possibly the short version of the S-class is only available in Europe. In any case, I was pleasantly surprised with the CL63 AMG. It is indeed a truly amazing car, the best I have ever driven in. Very nice combination of sportiness and outstanding comfort. It is amazing how well the ABC filters away all road imperfections despite the 20" AMG wheels.
Speaking of comfort, aren't you concerned about ride quality with those 22" rims? Possibly roads are of much better quality in the US as compared to some places in Europe, but my personal feeling is that for our roads the 20" AMG rims are just about perfect.
In any case, congratulations with your new ride and good luck with it!

Since your are in Chicago, you should join us for one of the meets. The last one was just this past Saturday (more detail on the E calss forum).
Enjoy your CL63 in good health!

Congrats on your new toy! I also would like to hear your full comparo of S63 and CL63 as I'm toying with an idea of upgrading to S63/CL63 or Audi S8/RS6 sometime next year.

I had a tough time deciding between the MB5 and the TR-5.

Not to mention fit and potential rubs, innacurate speedo.
IMO the car looks awesome just as is. Try it like that for a few weeks.
Dont insult the designers, too!

What a beautiful thing, does it run!?
I wonder if they are selling any. I think they would have many buyers if under .5 mil.
Have you got any more info on it?
Tanx friend,
Nevermind: www.exelerocar.com
Wonder if they'll put it up for auction once the tire company is finished with it.

Ive always been curious, is there much difference functionally (not performance per se) between the CL and the S models?
I had always thought the S was the most loaded car, but i noticed recently that CL car is the most expensive base model in the MB line, and would like to know WHY?
