The large star on the grille?
I noticed some of the Mercedes stars on the grille are encased in a plastic/glass. Was this an option? I never recalled getting to pick that when I bought mine new. On my CL65 (W125) I have the star, but it is not encased in the glass/plastic. You can touch the the sides of the star, whereas the glass/plastic one you can only touch the surface. Just like newer, CL's and SL's.

Is there anyway or anywhere to get the glass/plastic star? Or would the whole grille have to be exchanged?

The plastic is used for distronic.. If you notice the cars with the plastic have no bullet holes on the bumper for parktronic as its part of the same system.

Is there any way to actually get just that star? Even without distronic?
