Would you buy this CPO warranty for this price?

For a cl65 amg, 24,000 miles, 2 year warranty for $5,200. What do you cl65 owners think? Should I play it safe or keep the cash and hope nothing goes wrong. That's a lot of cash btw... I'm undecided. Help please.

In case more info is needed, this car will most likely be driven daily. The warranty covers engine and suspension.

I guess I'm just trying to gauge here if the average repair bills for daily driven cl65's exceed $5200 over two years.

i would buy an aftermarket for less then half and be done with it....

costs in next 2 years

2 new coils and possible eci and ofcourse maybe lets say abc goes....then this will all add up to well over $6k

Yes. I would recommend you buy the Daimler Chrysler warranty. i's Bumper to bumper for like less than $2K. By the way I just replaced both my coil packs for roughly $2k.

I bought the car used and the warranty had expired. Isn't the $2,000 Daimler an extended warranty only? This $5,200, 2 year warranty was the best price I could find so far. Anyone have any other leads?

You state this is a CPO warranty and I assume it is for a 2005 CL65 that you are showing in your signature. Only can get a CPO warranty from the dealer when buying a used CPO car. If that is the case I would get a 3 year CPO coverage. Anything else is a after market warranty. I would not want to own a CL65 that was not under warranty.

I paid $6100, for a 3year 100,000 mile MB Warranty. 2 days after the warranty went into effect it paid for a coil pack $1100.
I wouldn't mess around with aftermarket, If you read the fine print they don't cover a lot of stuff.

Nevermind, this isn't a CPO warranty from factory. It's an aftermarket warranty. I was using the term wrong. I can't get a factory warranty because I'm not the original owner and the warranty expired. I can only go expensive aftermarket warranty or no warranty.

The car has 19k miles on it. The aftermarket company is "Zurich" (it's not some crappy internet warranty company. Purportedly they're pretty reputable and Mercedes recommended them). But yea, 2 years-24k miles-$5200. Gotta decide...

Read the fine print with your dealer and see if it covers the abc system, coil packs, maf. These seem to be common problems.

Same here, always had good luck with the 7 year 100K MB warranty.

The warranty states: All parts are covered except: glass, lenses, sealed beams, light bulbs, wheels, wheel covers, tires, interior trim, moldings, bright metal parts, sheet metal, flexible body parts, weather strips, upholstery, convertible/vinyl top, paint, rust, physical damage, catalytic converter, exhaust system, brake rotors and drums, wiper blades, hoses, shock absorbers, batteries, carburetor, and throttle bottle assembly (except injectors). Spark/glow plugs, drive belts, brake pads, brake linings and shoes, and manual clutch disc. In addition, repairs of water and air leaks, rattles, squeaks and wind noise; alignment of body parts, bumpers and glass are not covered. Any parts or components that are not factory installed are not covered.

So it appears to me that those common problems you mentioned would be covered unless I'm misinterpreting something.

Bumper to bumper warranty for half the price with no strings attached? Remember this car is out of warranty range and I'm not the original owner. I will follow up though if you say so. Thanks for the lead.

What was the outcome??

I'm buying a CL55 (2002) today with 68k and while everything appears to work right now there are so many systems that I want to look at a warranty.

Cheers!

THis is the best!!!

I have a service contract(second owner) I bought from Michael Chase with Ziegler Group. This was half the price of what you guys are quoting and has already paid for itself twice over.(hard top and locking pump).
I have an 04 sl55 and alot of others here have the same warranty. It covers alot and even a rental.

It's pretty much the warranty I bought for the Cl65 as well. No complaints.

Just did my quote and it was $2330 for 3 years unlimited miles (Maximum Care) at this point (68K miles) for the bumper to bumper warranty which sounds pretty good. It requires me to take it to a Chrysler dealer or Authorized service center??

My question is how are payments at a MB dealer taken care of? do they bill directly or do I pay them and then get reimbursed?

Cheers!
