2011 CL63 AMG
Finally took delivery!!

After months of waiting my new 2011 CL63 AMG arrived yesterday. Spec-*******g-tacular automobile. Magnetite Black (which is basically a dark, metallic grey) on black. Did not opt for the perf pkg on this daily driver.
Haven't driven it enough to pass on meaningful impressions but I will say two giant thumbs up re: raw power and an amazingly throaty growl. Despite the varying opinions, I'm one who still believes in the 1000 mile break-in so I won't be getting on it for a bit but a short road trip this weekend will reveal many characteristics I'm sure. More pix, inc. under the hood, soon.

I'll trade you for my 55. That way, you won't have to worry about the break-in period.

More to come (interior and other detail) when I can grab some friggin' time but here's under the hood as requested. Also, will try to get to driving and overall impression when time permits. Or after 1000 miles -- whichever comes first! Suffice it to say I haven't stomped on it yet and it's making me a bit crazy(er). Call me a p*ssy but I prefer to think of it as old school. BTW, I was totally pissed they'd drilled the license holes prior to delivery. Too late now. Grrrrr...........
Thanks for all the kind words, dudes.

wow and I thought it was crowded under my hood
get bumper plugs and lose that plate bracket--sucks they drilled it--I told my dealer about a hundred times to not drill the bumper and I was at the dealer an hour after the car arrived off the truck and I took that front bracket with me and we taped a note on the car--I'm mildly obsessed

great car congrats again, if you need help getting to the 1000 mile mark just send me a PM I'll happily put the miles on for you

Something to die for--

Can you share your option list?

I'll bet you will need to rear tires in 5K miles?

The car came with pretty much everything except the AMG Sports Package (Code 950) and no interior or exterior carbon fiber. Also, I opted for the wood and leather steering wheel rather than the AMG Performance one with the leather and alcantara inserts.

This car rocks. Amazing sound on start-up and a low rumble as you drive that is satisfying to the soul. Still haven't pressed power and performance yet but looking forward to it. If I have one complaint it'd be the inability to have the economy (ECO on the dash) feature in a default "deactivated" position. ECO is the feature that shuts of the engine at a stop then starts it again when you take your foot off the brake. You're able to set the * function button on the console to accomplish this deactivation (in the system settings if I remember correctly) but you have to remember to push * every time you start otherwise you'll shut off at the first stop. Minor issue I know but a bit of a pain in the ***.

Here's one for the forum -- anyone have an opinion about whether or not to change the oil and differential fluid in the 1500 mi neighborhood? This car's a four year lease but I feel that despite non-ownership I should treat this machine right and it'll do the same for me. Any other early maintenance suggestions? It's hard to believe how long the factory suggested service intervals are. Thanks in advance for any advice.

GLK 350 / Porsche 993
sick car. I hope I get to buy one in my life time.
How big is lease payment on this monster?

ECO function does sound annoying. Who cares about mpgs with bi-turbo V8.

As far as maitenance, new cars don't require as much. If you are leasing I'd stick to what's recommended, not less not more. Porsches are at 20k intervals I believe (unless you are racing of course). I read new oils work better over time so changing them more often is worse.

I go by philosophy less time at dealership less chance something will be f'd up by mistake.

I believe if you keep it on Sport or Manual mode (as long as it is not set on Comfort mode), it will not shut off at stops.
