front window seal

hi, i have a 2004 cl600 and the rubber seal on the body above the front and rear window is ripping. wondering how expensive the rubber seal is and how hard to install. also what should it cost me to have this done?
apparently when you open the door the window doesn't drop fast enough to prevent the window from stressing and eventually ripping the seal.

Are you talking about the window railings/seals on the side windows? If so, I've had min replaced multiple times while under warranty. It is easy and a DIY.

Cost is about $350 per side. You need to order the correct interior color to match because this seal is part of the interior roof rail trim as well.

Left Side Part # A2157250166xxxx (xxxx is color info)

You will have to learn to pull the door handle, give it a second for the window to drop, then pull open in order to avoid this. One of my first complaints way back in 2003.

thanks, i do wait to open door, but got the car with this problem and everyone else including dealer don't wait. i am talking about the rubber seal. it is black rubber. i've been researching and found a roof moulding seal, gasket cord, sealing cord. it is listed at $3.00 and appears to be the part. am i correct, or is the part $350? i spoke to the district rep about this problem and he just shrugged me off!!!

The part you found is what is known as the gasket cord (A0019877046). Not the part you are looking for however.

The part you need is listed as SEAL, ROOF RAIL (LEFT or RIGHT)
