Don't mean to get off topic on your thread, but how big of benefits will we see with the meth kit on our cars? I know it does wonders to other cars, so I'm really interested to know what it can do on these motors with the correct tuning. Are you going with a 50% water/meth solution? I wouldn't mind being schooled on this :p

Speedriven meth kit alone should be good for around 30-40rwhp this is without tuning the car for meth. Primary purpose of meth on these cars should be for cooling the air. If you tune the car for meth you will get more power but you are also risking a lot more when a nozzle fails. I'm going the safe route and still hope to pick up 30-40rwhp maybe even more with my other mods. Best bang for the buck is the meth kit on the V12 TT I would say.

What I one were to incorporate a fail safe system for the meth? I know a lo my buddies have that on their cars to take full advantage of methanol.

I will check into that but sounds like a good plan to get more power. With these cars you have to remember that cooling down temps helps a lot since they get so darn hot. Methanol would be a mod for cooling more than to get more power out of octane.

It would be interesting to try and see if someone has done it and how much HP gain is involved. I will not be messing with methanol on this car since my Z06 had its motor rebuild because of meth before. I don't think I want to go through that again, especially on the Benz.

Im running an Aquamist HFS-5 kit on my M3. It has multiple failsafes built into the system. I have the system setup where it turns on only with my high boost setting. It definitely adds a good bit of power and turns regular fuel into about 100+ octane.

For track use I will be running MS109 and meth this should be enough for some good gains as far as octane goes.

Got a pic from Konrad at Speedriven today of one of the calipers. They came out great, and the guys did an amazing job. They put the powder on first, later the high temp sticker went on and after that the clear went on. They are better looking than OEM love them

But.. After a fair bit of research I found at least "on these v12tt's" the gains are NILL, a member here ran Aquamist meth kit in similar split you described & w/tuning only saw 15-20 rwp.. The other install I know of here saw his cl65 nearly burn to the ground, it sprang a leak & the intense heat on these rigs create the Perfect Storm so to speak..

Not to mention very possible engine Hydrolocking if your Pump etc fails to shut off, it could fill your intake path & motor then wham byebye $40k engine..

I will dyno the car with meth turned on and turned off see how much it gives me without tuning for it . Either way it will will def help cool it down and this is much needed on these cars. There are cars burning down from Nitrous as well, anything can always go wrong. If you are after a record you might have to squeeze as much as you can

V12-Biturbo
I hear ya but inmop you'd find the hp/tq you're looking for & a whole lot more in a safer way, converting your fuel system to run e85, much bigger fuel INJ's & pump etc etc others here inc an sl65 is running it w/huge success..

The cooling effect it has on engine allows you to run a lot more timing that isn't dependant on a tiny little pump working or not.. Much safer w/giant gains on turbo platforms.. Look into it at very least

They are reworking my OEM turbos. As far as HP #s I rather post exact numbers once off the dyno. Every car is different

Got my wheels from Scoto (forum member) yesterday and they are as close to perfect as you can get them. He has another set if anyone is interested. I will be doing a Hoosier set up on these with either a 26 or 28 inch tire. These are only 11lbs (these will be only used for the track)

are you sure those will clear your rear calipers? when i did the slk55 upgrade on my 32 the 4 piston calipers wouldn't clear the clk rims. i had to go to 18" rims to clear the 330 rotors and bigger calipers

I had that setup on my XF and had to sell it when I upgraded the rears to 4 piston.

i had 25mm spacers and the inside of the rim still hit the caliper. with the e55 the ears of the caliper are shorter just enough to fit. with the cl600 calipers i had on the slk32 its was a no go. just giving the op a heads up to check carefully before chipping the powder coat or buying tires that won't fit and wast some cash

Car is slowly coming together. Here are some pics of the brakes on the car and tail lights. Monday I should have more updates on interior, grille, headlights, markers, meth kit, front lip, and rear spoiler. Maybe even exhaust tips. If coolers will be back I might have updates with those as well. Thanks to guys at Speedriven for getting the car ready so it can hit the streets and track.

On this one you can see the engine bay with brakes I will take an after pic once coolers go on to match the brakes should look and flow together well
