Yup, same ***** on mine. I figured we must have similar woe's, mine even did that with just a tune. It never pulled like the 1st gens I have. It all to me has to be Torque management buried somewhere in another chip on the board, TCU, or ESP module.

Ya know its funny. I have all these little EVOs and old Golfs with turbo VR6s in them that wanna race me from 40-120 because they make as much if not more power than me and weigh less than half so its a no brainer they will win. They wanna race for big bucks too, again cause they know they will win. So I flip the script on them and tell them I will do the $1000 race but on my terms. Lets do 120-200. Thats when they back out real quick. lol I know what an 80's Golf does after 180, airborn. I know what an EVO with a built trans can do and its not 200. They try and pull 5th at 800+ AWHP and the gear goes kaboom.
Yes your ****box can do certain speeds quicker than I but they are stripped out super lite cars. I am over 5000lbs and full interior but the car is super stable at 200+. Thats when they start to realize there is a reason my car is 10x the cost of theirs. lol

Your price also includes the 99% of the time you are not in a race, you get to drive that car!

I have put it up for sale. I am in no hurry so its the most expensive W216 for sale right now but I am open to reasonable offers. It may come back perfect from Eurocharged and it already makes killer power. I do know its the cleanest and most powerful W216 in the world and its the only face lift W26 with a carbon nose and tail and apparently there are only two in the world that are my color with the CF interior in black so the car is a one of one car.

You've gone soooo far with it. I doubt many people would be able to take it from where it is to over the finish line like you can. I know the frustration; I have an old 72 big block 4 speed vette I over-restored and now pretty much just want to push it in the street and burn it. But man, you're close and it is such an incredible car. Even if I could afford it, I wouldn't have to expertise to take it to home plate like you can. Try to hang with it, get it settled in and just appreciate it for what it is: a very fast luxury coupe that will waste most of what is on the road and will do it in more class and style than just about anything else. It's tough when you put your heart and wallet into something and it just frustrates. It's like living with a super model on Prozac. But if the therapy takes hold, she could be a good companion, if you deal with the rough spots and realize she is what she is. When she's gone, you might miss her.

$33,000 dollars later for an 11.40 car. That blows my mind.

Dude are you seriously trying to sell a car that has never worked right for $125K. You'd better delete this thread because this is evidence of your car being riddled with problems and worth below market value. This car isn't worth half that asking price. Just keep it, or cut your losses. Nobody is going to pay for your failed project.

Well it was listed at "testing the waters @ 125K" in your Facebook post, where you arecharacterizing the car as the nicest w216 in the world, when in fact its riddled with problems and any buyer should know that going into it. This will severely and negatively affect the pricing relative to bone stock clean, low miles car. Look It's a great car, and platform but the reality is that these cars are quickly on there way to being worth sub 40's.

The problem is nobody wants a S/CL AMG out of warranty. Especially a previous generation one. "One of a kind" cars typically only appeal to one buyer, the first guy that built it. The number one rule is never buy another guys project. All the money you spent on this was a hobby, not an investment, and its gone. The sooner you make peace with that the better. If you're disillusioned with the car due to the ****ty journey with SD ( and nobody blames you after a year + and $35K to run 11.4, which any box tuned 65 can run quicker) and are serious about selling it, price it at market value and know you will need to budge on price to close the sale.

I have 40th anniversary CL65. Car was nearly $400K cnd new when my brother bought it. It's worth maybe 20% of that now. Just how it is with these cars. If I were you I'd just keep it, or dump it for what you can get and move on.

The cars ads have been removed this morning. The cars isues have been resolved (so I am told) I am just over the car. Its on some actual car sites for 100k right now. I was literally testing the waters at 125 and it was apparent that it would not bring the money. Some were helpful and some I will beat the hell out of if I ever meet them in person.
Also the car is not riddled with problems. It has one. It goes into limp mode after one run. That issue has been figured out and they are installing the correct parts today to eliminate that issue.
Really I dont care if it sells. I like the car and will drive it till I wreck it or hand it down to my kids if nobody has the coin to spend on it. I have 99 problems but money aint one.
On that note I bet it is the nicest in the world. It has the most power, not a single scratch, chip or ding and has a few one off parts nobody has or will get. Someone may drop the coin on another one off diffuser but dont think anyone will ever find another CF nose piece. Its a Designo car and does not have so much as a wrinkle on the leather. People that dont know about Benz cars swear its a 2017 and fresh off the showroom floor. You could eat off its heat shields as the nderside is spotless and the car has never seen any kind of weather and always been in a climate controlled garage.

In any event, that's a damn nice car. If I had money to burn, I'd buy it just to drive myself insane.

Whatcha gonna do with all that audio jewelry?

The entire audio system has been sold already. Ive also already ordered all the stuff for the Vette. Amazing its only 15k to put it in the 9's (maybe 8's) and the entire thing will be done in 3-4 days. lol
Sure it aint as luxurious but it sure is a blast to drive and suprer simple to work on and cheap as hell. lol

Oh man. Sold all the audio......ditching the CL.......and here I was living vicariously though you.

Yeah, the vette'll be a blast, cheaper and looks pretty wicked. Still, I'm sad. I don't give a **** what anyone says. Love that CL and sorry you had such a hard time with it. If I could just toss that kind of cash on a car, I buy it and let my AMG tech buddy have a field day. As it is, kinda looking for a W215, cause cheaper. Kinda looking for other stuff too, like a bigger garage. I apparently don't need to go as fast as you do

Vette already has a killer system I did in it last year with JL ZR components and CDT subs and tomorrow will throw in a Pioneer 8100NEX.

I may get the CL back from Eurocharged and fall back in love and not let it go. The one thing that kept bugging me was the suiperior power for one run then nothing but limp mode. They get rid of the limp mode problem and get it into the 10's like they said they could and I will probably keep the beasty.

Funny, everyone seems to love a Vette. Went to a car meet last night and instantly the models saw my car and wanted to pose with it. lol

Sure thing! LOLZ

Funny thing is when my crew pulled in the walked right passed a tricked out 2025 900hp Mustang, two 900+ C6 Z06 cars and a really trick built C6 Z06 and went straight to my car. Something about a C5 is just timeless. I can get a newer one but the C5 is just such a classic looking car. Plus for the cost of brakes and a killer chiller I am getting a fully built LSX 402, YSI blower, HD clutch, axles, dual fuel pumps, injectors (setup for E85) and some other goodies to make a safe 950rwhp and its all under 18k, lol Thats with older Corvette ZR1 wheels and drag tires. lol

U sure your vette ain't dragging a 12" ******* behind it?

Funny, I've had an a** full of vettes myself. Yeah, everything you say is truth, but like I said, I guess I just don't need to go as fast as you do. At 52, I'm starting to appreciate a different kind of fast. Cars and chicks. I just really dig the CL. Nah, you're not gonna get the little honey's really wanting to pose with a grampa's CL, but my wife would brain me anyways if she popped up at some meet and I had barely legal chicks dripping off my ride. I like what I have too much to give up half.

At the car meets the Benz would be largely ignored untill someone walked near it and saw inside. Then I would get questions and when I explained what the buttons did and what it had then there would be a crowd and you hear people telling other people what it could do. lol.
Now I like low key and I love luxury so I may just keep it anyway and use my Vette for the actual speed machine. I have the Denali for the work and hauling crap and the RL for the wife and grocery getting. Im a big boy, I can have two toys. lol

Corvettes are cool, but it's always fun having something no one expects to be fast. By that I don't mean some hammered looking beater that is a stupid fast sleeper, I mean a car that is nice but isn't something people expect will be fast. I mean if you show up at a meet or drag strip with a 10 second corvette, sure it's cool, but so are the other 5 there. That's the beauty of a CL in the USA. Most people have no clue what it is, or how quick or fast the "big Mercedes luxo barge" can be. I'd say keep the CL and enjoy it, even if you also have the corvette.

FWIW, my next 9 second car is already purchased, but is a 16 second car right now. No one is going to expect it to be fast either. (Well, actually the people who know me will expect it)

To be honest, I think you will never be satisfied with the CL65 when it does not get way faster.

Money seems to play no role for you. So take your heart in the hand and ship it to Germany to let someone work on it who really understand the ECU/TCU to unleash the real power.

I know a company who could do this, but I'm not sure if they are interested in working on your car.

With hardware from other company and with boost controller and not sure how the tranny was upgraded and if it holds the power etc. it would be at your own risk because this is not their hardware. And meanwhile it went through 2 different tuners. But at least they could make it run properly. In my opinion it would be worth asking them.

Your car is worth in the mid 60s, tops. It's such an oddity to me how you've just let speed driven ***** all over you and that car. And have never called them out, you might have 99 and problems and not having a clue is one. If moneys irrelevant why don't you just move on and sell the car and not ask a delusional amount? I've lost more $$ driving a few AMG cars off the show room and keeping them 2 years then you have in you car as a whole. I had bought new, it's the name of the game. I don't get off on if people think it's a 2017 off the showroom, that's totally irrelevant to the point. Go buy a McLaren and smoke that archaic vette and the 65 with just a tune that will have you in the 9s. You want the look and the speed it has both. There's a real difference in this world of true "ballin" levels and ballin on a budget level, IE 99 problems reference. It's worth far less now because of what they've done to the car and lost 20k in depreciation since you bought it, that's a hard cold fact.
