Hope everyone is well.
Was taking a look at CLs on eBay and came across this one. The black headlights got me curious. They look terrific.
I believe its a custom job. Has anyone here attempted this or does anyone know anything about it?

You would need to remove the headlight covers and paint the inside of the housing. Is a pain to do.

i've done that painting
opening the headlight is easy, apply heat to do this (many manuals on youtube)
then clean the chrome with a strong cleaner
tape inside (do not try to remove the hardware)
paint black mat high temperature
done

Using heat to soften the adhesive that secures the transparency to the assembly. Carefully remove the transparency. Be very careful to not touch the inside of the transparency.

Paint the color of your choice.

If I'm not mistaken, the AMG are a darker gray than the other?

Also anyone have a straightforward procedure on installing LED strips while inside to give our ancient lights an updated look while we have the unit opened up?

i think only the preface lifted ones are darker
