EMP WP29 intercooler pump

I've seen a couple of Texas based companies that offer a "reprogrammed" EMP WP29 intercooler pump for builds on Corvette ZR-1s, Caddy CTS-Vs, Turbo Lambos, etc. I was wondering if such an animal would work on our TTV12? I heard there were issues with high current draw and other programming issues initally, but has anyone tried one of these reprogrammed pumps?

Which companies? Lingenfelter is the well-known none.

Re-programing allows the pump to run at full speed.

I bought a WP29 for my '600, but I haven't fitted it yet.

Specifically, Texas Speed & Performance offers the EMP WP29 (reprogrammed) for their ZR-1, ZL-1 and Caddy CTS-V tuning.

After speaking with the folks at Texas Speed, the pump is from Lingenfelter.

I just had the (reprogrammed) EMP WP29 installed in my W221 S65. Currently running a Eurocharged tune and their larger HE. The pump is a tight fit, required welding up a custom bracket, and using some 1" to 3/4" reducers. It's a little louder than my previous Johnson pump, but it sure is keeping things much cooler. Even after flogging it or a long drive, the intercoolers atop the engine are quite cool to the touch....cold even!

Just an IAT update....this EMP WP29 is the business for the TTV12. My IATs are sitting at 112-116 degrees on an 85+ degree day, maxing out at 123-125 while sitting in rush hour traffic. A long pull up through the top of third or mid fourth gear from a dead stop pushes the temps up to 130 max....and then right back down to the 115-120 range on the coast down, settling back to 112-116. Night and day compared to the Johnson CM30 I used to have, the car feels like it's making real power now. This WP29 is moving some fluid!

Thanks for reporting back. I have the WP29 sitting on the shelf, I look forward to installing it soon. Quick question for you: did you install updated HE at the same time as the WP29?

Thanks,

PM

Yes, I used the Eurocharged HE and his tune.
