V12 Tach signal for Dyno

Tried to find this but couldn't on line and checked threads....when you dyno your V12 TT were are they picking up the tach signal from, couldn't find one when I tried....thanks

E55, GLS450, GL63, GLE350
They can use an optical sensor on the crank pulley. I've read that you can pull from the back of the engine but I have not personally done that.

I looked for the crank sensor, and Ive changed one on a CLK, at the back and you cant see a damn thing back there lol......my guy doesn't have an optical sensor uses a device like a timing light has to pick up off of a tach wire or plug....and we don't have plug wires. I was thinking one of the OBDII ports has to have a tach reading
